I wonder if they have any legal obligation to support it for a certain number of years after selling the last new car from the showroom? Just an idle thought. When I turn the car on and see the Carwings logo on the screen say "Connecting..." it makes me a little sad to think there's nothing receiving at the other end.

OK, more updates on my to-ing and fro-ING with Nissan: After advising me on Thursday that Carwings was back up and running, I tried logging in again without success, both with my original username and password, and with what Nissan said was my new username (but original password) both in the owners portal and in the App. Nothing worked. I then tried the "Forgotten password?” link on the owners portal and entered my email address, but got “ERROR: Password reset failed. User not found”So then I thought I would try a password reset using my old, original email address (even though I advised Nissan of my new email address in July and they advised in writing by return email that it had been updated). And lo and behold the owners portal said “Success - a password recovery email has been sent to you”. But that old email address has been cancelled and is inaccessible, so still doesn’t help me. So back to Nissan explaining the above and silence... until late yesterday I got, wait for it, FOUR Carwings password reset emails sent to my new email address, each one with my new username, but a different password each time (and sent in clear text, very naughty, Nissan, tsk tsk). These emails were spread out over 6 hours! After receiving the first email, I tried the credentials and they finally worked! But then my password was reset a further 3 times Finally I got an email from Nissan late in the day asking me to try again, and finally I can log in to both the owners portal and the Nissan EV App. Not only that, battery status is now reported, I can download previous driving stats and the rest. It all now seems to be working again! Whew! What a palava... but I got there in the end. I will now ask them about whether they can change my Carwings ID from “Nxxxxxx” to a name, like ELLIOTT managed, and see what they say I will also point out the regular dissatisfaction expressed in the LEAF owner forums on the unreliable nature of the Carwings system, that it frequently goes offline or doesn’t work (battery status not retrieved etc), without Nissan seemingly knowing that the system is down, or acting promptly to restore service, and see what they say.

EVangelist, can you say which email address you used to talk to Nissan Australia? I understand if you'd rather not say. Sounds like I need to get my email address updated. It's still with the previous owner. But you give me hope that it can eventually be sorted.

Hey the Nissan Connect App is working for me on my iPhone - first time in months. Got some hot days coming up in Adelaide so I'll have to try out turning on the climate control - the most useful function from my point of view.

I got a surprise phone call today from Nissan HQ regarding Carwings. They wanted to understand exactly what was not working with it. I explained that the real-time battery update is not working, either on the App or the owners portal. On the App, trying to update the battery status, the circle arrow spins for about 2 minutes then times out and an error message appears. On the owners portal, it just shows the current charge state as zero, and update does nothing.
I sent them some screen shots and they said the engineers will look at it.

Hoping to see results. Mine only works for 2 weeks, and never worked again since.

Now when you click on Carwings it gives a, "The service cannot be provided. Please try it again or contact the Nissan help desk." error. Clicking on the sign in link takes you to a 404 error page. Is it finally gone?
When you look up information from Nissan in the car it still gives you your rank so it sounds like the back end stuff is still working.

I wonder if I re-enabled the telematics stuff, whether I could get past the login stage. I disabled mine, since I never use that part of it, and it seemed to be draining my auxiliary battery (and that still seems to be a significant issue).
But it sounds like the question is moot, unless anyone else is having any recent success?

I can login via the app and retrieve driving stats etc, but the battery status and charging/climate controls do not work. I can also login via the website but Carwings gives the same result as Feng , above. DAC

Greetings
Is the use of Carwings restricted to locally (ie Australia) purchased Leafs?
I have a 2017 30kWh grey import (which I'm loving) so was wondering if I can enjoy Carwings too.

Such an emotional roller coaster ride between getting frustrated with Nissan and hoping they make things right. Not expecting much in the end. Sometimes I almost wish I worked at Nissan just so I could make a difference!

Nissan HQ have now asked for my login credentials so that they can reproduce what is happening at their end on the App (yikes!). Given that the password I use for this account is unique, I obliged. So stuff is happening... slowly. Taking one for the team .

Thanks EV, something is definitely happening , I nearly fell off my chair this afternoon when I tried it and it WORKED 100% ! I checked the battery charge, and turned the A/C on and off successfully. And it still worked again an hour later ! Hopefully it may work for some others too now. Its never worked for more than about 6 weeks for me - lets see if its longer this time.

I haven't been able to get the app to download and open on a new iPhone even though I transferred all the apps from the old phone. Was giving error that app is no longer available in the app store with option to keep or delete. But just now it has just downloaded and is working for current driving history. On the home page the update button is taking ages and will probs time out but I haven't removed the audio fuse in ages which I normally had to do every now again to get it to work.

I haven’t heard anything back from Nissan on this yet, I prompted them for an update, as they still have my login credentials 🙁
However, trying the app just now, Carwings is working for me, the current battery state was fetched! This is the first time in months that it has worked!

I'm still seeing "Login Failed" (portal) or "User ID/Password invalid" (app) :-( I went back to the paper manual, which still has a piece of paper clipped to one page with passwords, and on a whim I tried an old password (from the previous owners) on the portal. Lo and behold, it let me in! I was using the CarWings ID and password (starts with N, not X) on the app, which is wrong. Putting in the X... ID and old password on the app (version 2.0.4 from 2015) worked fine. Yay! So if others are still getting the "invalid password" problem, see if you can find an old password (they must have restored the server from backups), or try the "forgotten password" thing on the portal. I had a lot of trouble with that I recall, but maybe now things are better. A huge thanks to all that have cattle-prodded Nissan into doing something about this!

If you try “forgot password” on the portal, it will send an email to whatever email address is recorded against the login ID used (Xnnnnnn). If you have since changed email addresses (and can no longer access the original), or the car ownership has changed, then unfortunately that won’t help you.

OK - Nissan have got back to me and said that they are still conducting tests because some options on the application are not functioning across all ZE0 owners.
I've just checked the Owners Portal and it too is now working and reporting live battery status. I've also successfully remotely started a charging session using the App for about the first time ever (although the App said "the request had been sent" and that I would be notified when charging commenced, but I was not notified...).
So there is progress!
