Great meet up last night, always a good time! You can just make out Feng's LEAF on the right, charging away. Couldn't get the proper framing because of the sun.

It was great to see some familiar faces and meet new ones yesterday. We should definitely arrange something bigger and longer one weekend, there could be up to seven of us - nine if you include Phoebe and Gabz. Sorry Dave I didn't catch you while you were leaving since I was checking out Mark's towbar. I only just noticed the spot in front is a disabled parking spot we were using. Oops! Attachments:

Oh dear, that's my car in the disabled spot. What a turkey. I just noticed in Jim's pic I have my tie tucked in to my shirt too. Not the best day for pictures for me.

And the fellow in the suit is David. And buy the way - the charger was working flawlessly. P.S. Did anyone notice that I started two sentences with "And"? What a naughty boy!

not to mention you said "buy" instead of "by". Lucky grammar rules don't exist on the interweb great to be able to put some faces to nicks!

Don't forget to check in on the plugshare app and also check the chargepoint app to see if while your charging it says the unit is in use. If it's working that is. Good luck! When I used the North Strathfield quickcharger on the weekend the Chargepoint app didn't show it was in use. The Plugshare app doesn't show status.

I was eagerly waiting for it to be 'in use' when you guys all met up there a few weeks ago but it stayed available the while time. Wonder why. Ou reason I mention plugshare is so others, hopefully, can see that people are going there and using it. )

It's interesting that the NRMA FC even shows up on chargepoint as it's not on the chargepoint network. It shows up as green (chargepoint) rather than tan (other network).
That said, the next problem is - as it's not on the chargepoint network, and you can't swipe a chargepoint card to activate it (and have it show up as in use), the only way to say it is in use is if you manually check in. I've never done this but it appears to be possible. is that what you tried to do Leafboi?

No no I don't live in NSW and I've also never used the ChargePoint check in feature. I was just interested to see how the app reacted since it was not meant to be a ChargePoint QC but listed as one.
PlugShare is widely used in the USA as a check in app I'm guessing due to the many different network suppliers they have for charging.

Sorry about that, I think Feng was trying to get the in use feature to work not you. I'm so confused...

Yeah, it was Feng at the charger. Kind of makes sense as it has no desire to check in with the ChargePoint network. Given that we usually go inside to tell them it isn't working, seems like it doesn't even communicate with NRMA!
Been pretty good lately, I was there again last night and it was working perfectly.

Yep, was there last night in fact. Accidentally filled up to 97%. Checked the battery temp after and it wasn't up, but will avoid doing that in the future.
I actually think the charger overestimates the actual level as it only brought it to 11 bars and about 130KM on the GOM.

Frustrating! Did you report it to the NRMA office? My guess is they don't even know half the time.

Jim, I noticed the same thing, the fast charger overestimates the charge status. I charged up to 90% at the Melbourne fast charger as LeafSpy was still showing only 80% at that time. But the charger slowed down significantly by that time, so it was really a slow charger.

FWIW I've posted on their Facebook page about the outage and got the following:
"Sorry Matthew we are aware of the issue and our currently working to identify the fault. At this stage there is not an estimated repair time. I will keep you updated though. Cheers, Paul, NRMA Social"

It's like a bloody photocopier that machine! Turn up there with a a half full battery for a top up no probs, only offline when I really, really need it. Pushed through to Rouse hill shopping centre chargers last Sunday night when it stood me up, had been at "---" on the GOM for at least 10km when I finally got there. "TurtleFear" that Leafy kind of range anxiety.

Out of curiosity Kris, how many kms do you do on a charge and how many kms have you driven in total? You sound like you're comfortable with pushing the limit. Would the Steve Jarvin Chargepoint be a safer bet?

I seem to get about 125km up & down the Windsor road, most of it at 70-80kph Feng. Car is a year old now with 15k km on it. Last Sunday was the first time I pushed into the "---" zone for real (did it once not long after we bought it just round & round the block to see how many km before the turtle). Just got sick of sitting in the car in the dark outside Javin's when George St stands me up, there are restaurants at Rouse Hill! I have dreams about a traction pack with twice the range!

I have dreams about a traction pack with twice the range! Don't we all! I'll have to check out the Rouse Hill Chargepoints, haven't been out that way yet. Having restaurants nearby does sound appealing. Definitely better than walking up the road to McDonalds.

2 dedicated EV spots Feng but you need to bring your swipe card to activate them & there are little bumps on the power point moulding that stop you using the plug on the Leaf EVSE so you need an extension lead with a regular plug.
