If the first car pulled right up to the end and the second was right against it then it just might! Otherwise we could do the old switch-a-roo of car positions every 15 minutes.
Just realised I'm not doing the pilgrimage next week because my daughter will be at camp, so if anyone can determine if it's working, perhaps we try a get together the week after?

Three? Do I hear 3 Leafs & a charger? Can it hold up for 3 consecutive charges?

My understanding is unless you are running low, a charge will only take 10-15 minutes each so why not? It's just a matter of shuffling the cars around. The physical area is set up for one electric car charging and there is a "normal" parking spot behind it. So only two will ever fit in that space but easy to rotate others in.
I would still like to see better thought out charging bays where one charger can reach multiple cars. Better yet, have multiple cables and just charge each car in turn. Could have a timer system that shows the estimate until your car is charged.

Sorry to has this thread up but I was wondering,
The chargepoint app lots the charger as available... Does it always say available when it's 'out of order'?

Who knows? I've tried ringing Gloria Jeans & the Korean BBQ restaurant opposite to query status but quality information is hard to come by, usually something like "it looks OK from here". Bit sad if I have to drive past in my ICE car to eyeball it & that's no guarantee it will be online next week if I take the Leaf. A little IP camera mounted under the awning perhaps?

Happy to say the NRMA charger is operational, I stopped by last night and got a charge.
I previously charged enough to get me home but this time I charged for longer to see what happens and noticed it charges beyond 80% according to LEAF Spy. When the car reached 80%, the charger displayed somewhere around 92%. At that point the dashboard beeped and flashed the unplug icon around every twenty seconds. The charger slowed down and sat at 98% for at least two minutes. The car slowly reached 86% so I stopped charging in case it wasn't good for the battery. The sensor temperatures rose from around 27degC to just under 31degC so I think that's safe.
Leafboi, I didn't check to see what the Chargepoint app said when it was previously out of order or when I was using it last night. Maybe someone else can check if it shows that it's in use the next time they're charging?
So when are we all meeting up at the charger?

Well, if the bugger is workin' again, I'll be there around 4ish this avo for a coffee on my way into the city. We should pick a day for a group EV hug soon before it goes on the blink again!

Good idea Kris. I could probably do something week after next on Tuesday 5pm or Wednesday 5:15pm. Either day is do-able for me. I'd prefer the Wednesday as I'll be in the area then. Just to be clear - we are talking about April 1st or 2nd. True? I should have the tow bar installed by then too. Cheers, Mark

What time can people stick around till? I don't think I can make it out till 6-6:30pm on either day.
We can park alongside each other at the NRMA car park behind the charger.

How sad would it be to have a bunch of LEAFs meet around an out of order charger. We should park in a queue along the street and send a photo of it to NRMA if that happens.

Cool, I'm in. Sounds like we are officially on for next Wednesday the 2nd!
Maybe someone let NRMA know to make sure the charger is working. They might even want to take a publicity shot.

I've found their media page and will mail someone about it: www.mynrma.com.au/about/media-contact.htm. Should I post a message on the Nissan LEAF Australia Facebook page and try to get other non Ozleaf members to attend?

Don't worry Kris, there's always next time. You never know, this could turn into a monthly thing. At the very least we'll toss some ideas around for the next LEAF meet.

Don't forget to check in on the plugshare app and also check the chargepoint app to see if while your charging it says the unit is in use. If it's working that is. Good luck!

I stopped by last night and charged up! Working great!
I should be there around 5:15. Whoever is there first should start charging and then pull into the space behind when it frees up. Would be great if we could occupy both for the duration and keep swapping positions out.
See you soon!
