I've booked my Leaf in for it's 30000 km service (technically, it's first since I've owned it - 8 months ago).
Silly question - surprised I couldn't already find a thread - what EV specific do they do at the service?
Check battery cell condition? Firmware update / map update? I've asked if they can do the 2G/3G replacement at the same time.
And of course the usual boring stuff like check brakes, wipers, wheels/steering etc.
This is all kind of new to me - my father-in-law is a mechanic and has serviced my cars ever since I got my first when I was 19. I've never had to question or ask what was done - his daughter was riding in the car, he was never going to do anything dodgy! But he is retired, and although he still services our Mazda he wouldn't know what to do with a Leaf!

You should have a copy of the service and maintenance guide in the glove box, but in case you don't I have attached it as a pdf file. If you read right through it it details what should happen at every service for 96 months. 2012-NissanLEAF-service-maintenance-guide.pdf (660.99 KB)

Thanks Phoebe! That gives me a rough idea. I was a bit uncertain because I'm not sure of the service history before I bought it. The other thing is that it's a 54 month old car which has done 35000 km / 22000 miles! I'll find out soon I guess

My experience is they judge it on whichever is more. If you do a lot of distance in a little time they judge it on distance, but, if like me, you do a little distance in a lot of time, they judge it on time. I've done just over 8000kms in 4 years, but they still service it every 6 months.

They are never going to service mine. There's so little to do really, BUT... I have discovered that wipers are one thing to inspect. THEN brake pads, Tyres, tracking, and a general look around. You may wish to avoid the biggest money spinner of battery top-up, and washer bottle top-up. Then another is car mat placement & security.
Short of the long here, is they don't really, or take much maintaining. Bridgestone tyre centers can do all that's needed really.
