G'day all LEAFIES!. In line with not only our quest for charging, and many others... I recently addressed the afore-mentioned Botanical emporium, and I received a positive reply. At such a great place to visit, family et al, a place to charge sounds a great reason to do a visit, if you like a day out... or just s quick visit, which may take you longer once one has seen the place. So, it's kinda half way between The 'Gong and the DCFC at Ryde, and offers a nice place to replenish the necessary.
Here is what I received.
"Hi xxxxxxx, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. You will be happy to know that we are currently investigating options for this and you may very well be able to charge you vehicle at the Garden in the future. Kind regards"
Sounds like another place to add to the journey, or outing list!.
I asked for updates as they happen, and the person said they would be pleased to do so. WooHoo!.
Makes me wonder how many other places could be on the eco friendly outing map. It appears that now the Gong! Is on the South heading map, there has to be a few more, including the Maccas charge points. Anyone care to add to a list, or create a list of EV friendly places?.

This is great news. Mount Annan is far enough out of the city that this is a very useful place to have a Fast Charger. Yet it would still be within range of both the Strathfield and Wollongong Fast chargers - creating a sort of a network for us to hop between.
Things are really looking up.
Good effort 4wardthinking.

My sentiments too. A network is beginning to take shape now. I will update as, or as soon as I get more information on this. Could be another place for a LEAF meet in the future, and probably for other EV owners too.

A DCFC at the 'gong, very nice! 127km from my place, could have made that when the Leaf was new. Down to 9 bars & 95km range these days, grrr.

I've contacted the Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living ( www.mcsl.org.au/ ) which is right next to the gardens, and are in the business of promoting sustainability. Hopefully one or both end up providing something to help fill the utter void of charging infrastructure out this way.

Have had an initial positive response from MCSL so that's a hopeful start. When I meet with them, does anyone have any information already available I could share about their options for providing charging capability? Thus far I have just outlined they could permit use of an existing (presumably 10A) outlet if they have one near a car space, or install a 15A one that we could use with our own EVSE for max input to gen 1 cars like the Leaf, or above that presumably would consider some more commercial charging point, or even future-proof with >15A options? Just hoping someone has a useful submission they have prepared earlier that I could leverage

I had a great call with one of the managers at MCSL who is super-keen to make this happen. She is going to discuss with their board and also the Botanic Gardens to understand if there is any overlap with efforts there. After that she is keen for me to bring the car in for a show-and-tell, and I suggested we look to places like Chargepoint and Jet Charge to talk about installations, but that's just off the top of my head. Any further advice much appreciated

This location finally has a charger: www.plugshare.com/location/237255It's a 22kW BYO type 2 cable arrangement, but currently limited to 6kW due to site supply issues.
