I'm with AGL in NSW and I have a smart meter but it means nothing to me as it costs me less than that with my solar panels and battery storage. Even in these shortest days of the year I'm amazed how little I take from the grid

It's not that great ... I do 15000km annually 150Wh/km so 2250kwh and pay 23.41 c/kwh $526 per year... compared to $365 so save $161 but for them to work out the car usage vrs house there needs to be something extra required with what i assume will have an install cost etc... if you do less than 11,000km per year your worse off.

Yup. In my first full year of Leaf ownership I spent $330 charging it, so less than $1 per day. Two EVs might be a different story... But then do they charge you $2 per day?

If you had a Tesla and did a fair bit of driving it would be a great deal.

I do a lot of driving, but I have solar panels and charge during the day as much as possible so no good for me either.

Agree, also have solar offset, and wouldn't use enough as I have an off peak option as well. I have .52 in tariff, buy at off peak at .18/kWh. And only do around 80km a week. Not worth it..
