www.carsales.com.au/news/nissan/nissan-clears-the-decks-42392Comforting to know the LEAF isn't the only model that's overstocked in Nissan's inventory and that a lot of dealers are disgruntled with Nissan's oversupply and marketing approach. Here's a choice quote: "Credible reports indicate dealers are rejecting new stock of the Pulsar, on the grounds they can't sell the stock they already hold, and the new-generation Y62 Patrol is being discounted by as much as $30,000 to clear it. Other models – including the run-out X-TRAIL – are sitting on grass in large numbers at Nissan's holding facility in Laverton North (Vic.)." There's probably a bunch of LEAFs there among them. Let's hope the new management does a better job!

and that's really not good news for the brand; it will be costing Nissan Aus a fortune and they will start ditching any models that are remotely interesting/risky, like for example the Leaf

I don't know, Nissan basically bet its future on the LEAF when they invested $4billion to develop it. I would think they would start giving Australia a hard time for not keeping up with the rest of the world. 100,000 LEAFs in the world today, only 100 or so in Australia?

It could be said that the LEAF is Ghosn's baby, so I would think he would have something to say if Nissan Australia tried to drop it.
But part of the problem is the ' old school ' dealers, who cannot, or do not want to, see the future. Nor do they want to invest in the training, skills, and equipment necessary to meet the criteria required by Nissan in order to sell and service the LEAF.
We also know that some dealers don't like LEAFs because the dealers make far more money out of service and spares for ICSs, than from our beauties.
The attitudes of these ' old school ' dealers may have been reflected in some of the states of the U.S.trying to stop Tesla setting up their shops in those states.

Yeah, lack of high cost servicing would be a bust for dealers!
