My dad was driving when the car in front kicked up a strip of metal and it speared into the LEAF's bumper. I suppose I should be glad that it was just the bumper and nothing more serious. Time to find out how much a LEAF bumper costs here. Not happy. Attachments:

Argh! Annoying. Do keep us informed on repair/replacement costs though.

Time to find out how much a LEAF bumper costs here. Not happy. I take it you are not getting it fixed on insurance When I had to have the panel over one back wheel replaced I got it done under insurance. I have no idea what the panel cost. I know it cost me $600 for the excess and I got a hire car included for my $600 while the LEAF was being fixed. If the quote for your bumper is more than your insurance excess you might think about an insurance claim - saves you any hassle

Yeah I'll weight up my options, hoping to get it fixed ASAP before the Christmas shutdown period.

Ouch! Lucky it didn't go thru windscreen - it's kinda scary!

Yeah we were philosophical about it afterwards. It penetrated deep enough to dislodge the foglight from its mount, it would have been lethal through the windshield. I'm also glad I wasn't the first LEAF owner to set my battery on fire like the Teslas overseas. That would have made the news for the wrong reasons!
Got quoted $385 to have the hole patched up and painted, the panel beater thinks it can be plastic welded. Looking forward to detailing Evie over the Christmas holidays and posting some glamour shots when she's good as new!
