If, like me, you prefer to be notified of changes to threads by email rather than having to remember to keep checking back....
Turn on bookmark email notifications: 1/ Click on "Profile" on the toolbar under the AUSTRALIA LEAF Owners FORUM banner 2/ Click on "Bookmarks" in the heading line with Member's Bio - Modify Profile - Bookmarks 3/ On the right hand side of the table's heading is a link "Manage Bookmarks" 4/ At the bottom of the list of bookmarks (if any) is the question:
By default, when you bookmark a thread, what type of notification would you like to receive when a new post is made in that thread? Options are: No Notification - Personal Message (PM) - Email
Choose Email, then click the "Update Bookmarks and Preferences".
Now, if you are in a thread you want to follow click the "Bookmark" link at the top of the table that holds the thread (should be next to Search). You will receive an email for the FIRST response after you leave the thread. Once you read the thread it is reset and another email will be sent.

If you want to receive the same notifications for threads you start, you can either:
Select " Check this box if you wish to bookmark this thread." towards the bottom of the New Thread" page, or
Bookmark it the same way after you create it

To turn on email notifications for PMs: 1/ Follow the "Messages" link at the top of any page. On my PC it is very hard to find because it is black text on dark blue. A tip is that if you drag the mouse down the page it becomes easier to read when it is highlighted.
2/ In the table heading are the links: [New Message] [Delete All Messages] [Mark All Messages Read] [Outbox] [Backup Messages] [Preferences]. Select Preferences
3/ There is a setting: Notification
Do you wish to have an email sent to you when a Personal Message is received?
Choose Yes
And then click Save Preferences
