I have a two year old Leaf. Love the car. It was involved with a minor accident. Needed a part. None is Australia and will take at least 8 weeks - but Nissan can't even guarantee that!! This is a ridiculous wait, with car of the road, for a part for a pretty new carf which is still being sold in austral. I tried to ring Nissan Customer Service (an oxymoron if ever there was one!) to complain. The first time I got through to something called "the over flow" line, as they had so many calls they couldn't cope. I gave my details to the operator, who promised Nissan would be in touch within 2 days. A bit of a joke that!! Gave up and tried again. This time I got through and told my complaint to someone on the other end. He didn't seem to care at all - just said that they did not carry stock of all parts. Didn't seem to care - talk about callous indifference. So basically, even though I love the car, I would advise everyone against buying one, as, if anything happens you are totally left in the lurch!!!

While I think Nissan service is terrible, and I'd love to say that 8+ weeks is really bad as well (and it is), I think that's pretty standard these days unfortunately. Best to get insurance with unlimited Hire Car coverage like Suncorp.
And even though I'm a big EV and Tesla fan, they and others have many horror stories of things like that. Four months for a rear window, 5 months and waiting for doors, 7 months and waiting for xyz parts....
