I have a Hobart based workmate who's interested in buying a Leaf on a budget. She was eyeing the cheapest one on Carsales but for another $1k I suggested one on Gumtree that's an Australian delivered model with 8 battery bars vs 7 for the Carsales one. I figured if she ever wants the battery replaced she can take it to a Nissan dealer to get it done rather than going down the aftermarket battery replacement path. At the very least she'll have options when the time comes.
Which brings me to the point of this post: Anyone had experience with Hobart Nissan when it comes to servicing Leafs?

Hey Feng,
I think I saw your comment on FB a couple of days ago!
Would she be interested in a 7-bar 2012 Leaf (Australian version, with an annual service history at Hobart Nissan) for about $12k?

Hi Chuq, yes that was me. She might be? Is this your old Leaf? I can speak to her about it and pass her your email address.

Chuq was kind enough lend her his to test suitability. It was was a stretch with highway driving, but here's the kicker: The Nissan dealer quoted her $50k for a new battery + $10k labour. I'm pretty disappointed to hear that. I suggested she contact Nissan corporate to have that escalated. No way a dealer can charge that amount unless they mistakenly quoted for a newer model Leaf.
