I test drove it. Ownwre said he did 84km on it and car was reporting it had another 14km to go in battery. It was in pretty good nick. Used to be owned by CSIRO in ACT. He dropped the price to make it more competitive with the 2000km $17k 11/12 battery health one near Newcastle. Had it at $22k before. It's the cheapest electric you can buy that still has range on it. Compliance date on it is correct. I was deciding between these two, but drove all the way to Newcastle from SYD because the other one had 2000 km only, and was still cheaper! (but that one is now gone. )

10 000 km mileage is still really low. The Newcastle one had such extremely low mileage that I would have been concerned about how it had been stored, as in what was the level of charge in storage, as it had barely been on the road. If the range will do you, sounds like the test-driven one is good. One thing to be aware of that range will be lower in certain driving conditions - highways, rain, hills, so allow some leeway with your range calculations and work out whether it will suit your need. Battery issues aside, Leafs are a pleasure to drive.

Probably going down the importation route. Pay a bit more, get a newer EV, around the same mileage and hopefully more features and a bigger battery.

Its attery was checked at Nissan dealership before I bought it and it had all 5 stars. I’ll check the batteries with LeafSpy when I get it anyway in case there is something obviously wrong. May be worth contacting the 20’000kn one you are looking at. He may be interested in getting the battery report from Nissan. I told the seller that’s a key thing people check.

That battery report grades the owner's usage habits and how well they've been looking after the car, it doesn't show the battery's actual health besides the capacity bars you can already see on the dashboard.

Thanks Feng! I am getting one of them leafspy gizmos to check the battery when I get mine. I still have a week to return it if its a dud.
