Hi,
I rang up Chargepoint today, and asked them how much their stations cost, which I thought would be useful to know in my project of approaching shopping centres etc about putting in car charging.
They have two models, a CT 2000 for $6500, and a CT 4000 (double outlet) for $12900, and installation is on top of this, and might cost in the range of $500 to $1000.
Does anyone have information on other EV charging suppliers that I could refer to, perhaps a bit less expensive?
As an aside, I used a Chargepoint for the first time yesterday, at the Quad Park Sunshine Coast Stadium, just to check it out. It is solar powered, which is nice, but the signage made it confusing about whether it was available for use. The signs said, "SCS staff only", and one of the two parking spots was disabled. There was one charger plug outlet, and it did work. I went up to the office to check whether we could use it, and they said we were the first people to come and use it since it was installed. They seemed quite happy for us to use it, although one spot had the manager's ICE car parked, and the only empty spot was disabled. The parking spot is in a premium spot, and really has been taken over by the venue. In their defence, they haven't exactly been swamped with EV owners wanting to use it.

If you can find a good place to put a charger with a willing owner, then I can give you Keba KeContact KC-P20-ES240020-00R EVSE rechargingnsw.com.au/products/kecontact-p20-series/They prefer a 3 phase 32AMP connection (but can run on a 1 phase 32AMP). I don't have the remote access working yet, so they will allow anyone to plugin (unit has a built in web server to see the data). Customers with a J1772 socket (LEAF / iMiEV / i3) need a Type 2 to Type 1 cable. Tesla owners need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. I am looking for places to install them, but have not had a lot of time to chase people. North of Brisbane - Burpengary / Caboolture (tried Morayfield shopping centre, guy won't call me back), maybe Landsborough (tried Australia Zoo, but they were not interested) and Redcliffe. East of Brisbane - Cleveland / Carindale West (ish) of Brisbane - Springfield Central, Willowbank (raceway), Marburg / Gatton / Helidon, Toowoomba, Highfields,

Did they mention an annual service fee ? I thought there were one of those.
Charge point is great. And the royals of charging stations. And the only option if you want to charge people for electricity. But one of the reasons I created recharging NSW was to fill the gap you can give away a lot of electricity for the price difference between my gear and charge point.

Gabzmiev: Good point about the cost difference - I was a bit surprised by how much Chargepoint costs. They didn't mention an annual service fee, but it would be logical for there to be one.
Lesmando, it is good to hear which places you've already approached. So far, I've tried Stockland Caloundra (no plans for now) and SC Airport (they're meeting with Tritium soon). I'm planning to talk to the Council, and work my way through the shopping centres.
I nearly got stranded in Maroochydore a few weeks ago after a night out, and it was only through the kindness of StuartM and his wife that I got enough charge to get home, and it came with the bonus of hot chocolate and some homemade jam. This has focussed my mind on the need for more public charging.
