Hi,
I've seen that Leafboi and others have successfully approached shopping centres about installing EV charging, and would like to do the same on the Sunshine Coast. If anyone has any tips or good wording for a letter that they'd like to share, I'd be really interested. They could either post it here or pm it.

shopping centres are as hard as it gets because you have to deal with not just 1 person but multiple across different states as sometimes the carpark operations get contracted out etc.. small business is easier less people involved but the capital cost looks bigger to smaller guys.
basically stockland already have a policy of adding EV chargers they had them back when betterplace rolled out and have them now. if you have a stockland shopping centre it's easier you are just lobbying the local guys to ask head office to prioritise them.

Hi Gabzmiev, there is one Stockland centre in Caloundra, so I might start with them. Have you seen their EV policy? It would be good if I could mention it to them.

Stockland park at Bokarina have a free EV outlet, it's on plugshare and chargepoint. So they seem to be supportive.

I'm thinking of getting in touch with Kunara to see if they'd be willing to house a Veefil charger.
I've had some good chats with the guys at their head office in Coorparoo and they just stated that no one wanted to put their hands up for housing a fast charger... As I believe they were wanting to give away they're old test units for free but the companies had to pay for an install.
I had to ask a driver of a huge SUV to move outta the EV spot at Kunara today. When I spoke to some employees there, they said "sorry, when it gets busy the spots get taken"...
So they don't care at all...

I haven't tried recharging at Kunara, the few times I've been there the parking is very full, so don't like my chances. Good to know you are stopping it from getting dusty. Apparently, the recharger there was only the second public charger installed in Australia, so almost historic. www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/mitsubishi-outlander-phev-road-test-review-petrol-/2475919/ This article has a pic of Kunara, but refers to the charger there being a fast charger, quoting the store manager. If only.... I did hear of a plan for a Tritium at Sippy Downs, but don't know how that is progressing.

The kunara charger is in a difficult place. I couldn't get near the charger and had to wait for ages to get access. Then there was not much to do. Luckily my friends parents allowed me to charge at buderim. But it is nice they put it in.
I looked at the outlander piece. I think someone at Mitsubishi should have explained to keep the battery full for the hill climb.

Wonder how the volt would do without mountain mode enabled in Australia

I gather the same, revving its head off trying to spin the generator to provide power for the sun gear motor

Yesterday I had to ask some huge 4x4 to move and got a rude attitude back...
