I know it has been a while since this has been raised in the forum, but when is Nissan going to release the P3227 (or newer) software update in Australia?
It has been suggested that the reason we are not getting it is because of the voice recognition module that Nissan refuses to enable for Australian Nissan Leaf owners - is this seriously the case? If so Nissan should be listening to those of us that have taken the plunge and are early adopters of the Leaf, get us the updates when they are available elsewhere in the world. Does Nissan not realise that we are the best advertisements they have for their vehicles?
Also understand that the bootware version that our Leafs are running on is well behind the US - why?
Surely if there is an upgrade we should be able to enjoy the benefits of it.
Can someone from Nissan please update us?

Maybe it's not such a big deal in the end. I seem to recall the update reduces your amount of regen for some unknown reason. And while Carwings and the GOM is more accurate and you get around 8km extra range, it's taken from the hidden reserve. I used to feel like we're missing out on latest and greatest but if it ain't broke...

Could be that there are licensing or localisation costs that Nissan Australia didn't want to pay. To get the most accurate GOM they might need to input local weather conditions and so on rather than just downloading the master and pumping it into our cars.
As Feng says, doesn't seem quite as important these days. I think the hidden reserve is good to keep hidden, would keep a lot of us out of trouble pushing the range too far.

You should speak to head office. If they have the equivalent to Dean from Nissan he would bust some heads and get it done. If the update is available and being done in Oz, there is no excuse for the local dealer to refuse.
