No. Pretty sure we have a standard 3 year warranty for the car, including the battery and nothing warranted against depletion.
They had to do the 8-year battery warranty in the States to alleviate major concerns about the battery life, despite all science and knowledge that showed the battery life will be a non-issue.

I'm guessing that if anyone of us have a battery issue like extreme capacity loss in a short time Nissan AU would also not want bad publicity here about a product that they really believe in and they would ensure the issue is rectified.
The LEAF is a hero product for the brand even though there isn't that much advertising for it here that's simply because it all just boils down to scales of economy a the moment.
