They are late to the game. By the time they have a car in production, electric car prices would have dropped, and then you have to beat the BMW's, Audi's, ... of the world in that price range.
They should have looked after their Leaf a little more, and upgraded it more significantly for the 2019 model.
Hopefully this effort eventually results in a better Leaf...

Good luck to them, but they'll struggle to fit in below Audi/Mercedes etc. No one is going to pay as much for a Nissan, as they do for a Mercedes EV. So if they think they'll have a much higher profit-margin in that sector, they are mistaken. But hopefully there'll now be money for Battery Cooling.

I agree. I think they are trying to follow Carlos Ghosn strategy with the 370Z (before they set him up to criminal charges for wanting to take the Nissan and Renault too far). They weren’t selling many cars until he made a high end performance alternative people could look up to in their brand. But this is not the same. They want to get into the fancy exclusive market. Not a boy racer.
