That will not last long. Bound to be eastern staters all over it tomorrow morning with their public holiday. (No it is not mine).

Price now dropped to $18k by the seller. By far the cheapest Leaf. Wish I was still in the market for a Leaf.
By the way, there are only 5 Leafs left on Carsales.com.au that makes it one of the rarest cars! Heck, there are way more Mclarens for sale than the humble Leaf.

OK, I'm totally depressed that the car is now selling for $18K, with the same km as mine. That is savage depreciation. I noticed that they've got the wrong info about the warranty, so have sent them a message.

Interesting. I looked at the Camry Altise Hybrid with the same fitments specs at the time, was bout $6k more as mine was a LEAF demonstrator at $34k. In fuel comparison and servicing I have saved about $6.5k in the 4 years. The 2012 altise with similar km is about $20k. So a loss of ~ $20k My Leaf is about $18-$20k. So I have lost ~$15k, add the $6k in fuel savings and servicing, call it $10k. So I'm about $10k better off. Furthermore I have been driving a car I really enjoy driving, suits my needs on the coast, and yes I feel green charging from Solar. So all in all I wouldn't change anything.

Don't you mean $10K down, not better off? I paid $40K for the car, so am coming from a higher price point, although the 0% interest loan that they were offering at the time was very good. I've also had the car for two years, but have now done $43 000 km.
And yes, it is a great car in many ways, a different thing from the purely financial.

I'm $10k better off buying the leaf than buying the Toyota Camry Altise hybrid. I would have lost more money on depreciation with the Toyota. And then the savings in fuel and servicing.

The battery warranty is just about out with that Leaf. If Nissan don't want to price battery replacements the resale will drop...plain and simple..

Spoke to the guy, he is under mistaken belief that batt warranty is from when he bought it - thinks there is 4 years left to run on it, didn't believe me when I told him different. Has had it a year. But it's a good battery - only just dropped to 11 bars last week. Which means around 84%. Also thinks fast charging not good for battery so has only charged twice on a DCFC. If it wasn't black I'd be at his doorstep now

Spoke to the guy, he is under mistaken belief that batt warranty is from when he bought it It isn't? I thought it was. Are you absolutely certain? I haven't got my battery warranty details handy as I'm interstate. I thought I had another year or 10k to wear mine out.

Yes, battery warranty is five years / 100,000km. So is up to 4th year of warranty. But the new car warranty ran out at 3 years / 60,000km.

OK, now I'm getting confused. If the guy bought it as a demonstrator, would the 3yrs on car/5 years on battery start from when the car was first registered as a demonstrator, or from when he bought it? It is important that the ad on Gumtree has the right info. The guy may need to check with Nissan.

My understanding is that the Warranty starts from the first time the car is registered regardless of who the registered owner is (i.e. Nissan Australia/Nissan Dealer/Private owner). My car was a Nissan Australia demonstrator first registered in March 2014 so the 3 yr car warranty runs out March 2017. The 5 Year battery warranty would be in place until March 2019.
That was explained to me by the Nissan dealer who sold the car to me.

I was about to ask who's the culprit. I lost sleep due to this. Do I buy something I don't need but at a bargain or not?
