Hi everyone,
It seems that we are seriously lacking an DC Fast Chargers in Melbourne with only 1 working unit publicly available located at the Moreland Council Office in Coburg. The one located at Swinburne University Hawthorn (closest to me) is broken with no ETA on when it might be back on line.
Does anyone know how much it costs for the cheapest DC Fast Charger? If it's cheap enough, maybe some private companies may consider getting one installed. I'm sure it will attract a lot of attention.

I've heard something like $30k for a 50kW fast charger, but the old adage "how long is a piece of string" applies. It depends on things like available electrical supply and so on.

I have a small list of prices cheapest is $20,000 (AUD excl GST) for a 20kW veefill and the e-stations are around $35k mark for 50kW. ABB is the most expensive $30k for the 20kW versions. and don't yet have a price for a delta.
This doesn't include uncertified no warranty Chinese ones.

At UQ, it cost us over $10,000 in switch gear, trenching, piping, cabling and concreting to install a 50kW Veefil with a switchboard that had enough capacity (add another $7,000 ish if it is under capacity). Also, there is a discount multiplier on the ABB units, the more you buy, the larger the discount.

Gabzimiev, have to make a comment. As from the forum, I bought a 10kw Chademo from Setec in China. The people were good to deal with, honest in their costs and delivered on time. The unit just recently had some issues with shutting off as complete before it was at capacity. Emails and phone calls to techs in China resulted in a diagnosis, most likely software fault. Setec without issue sent a new complete unit via TNT air (4 days) at zero cost and paid for return of the faulty unit. I have had much worse warranty issues with Australian companies I can tell you. For a public regular use Station I would support the Veefil units as being effective, neat and also Australian. Even at double+ the price if Veefil had a portable 3 phase Chademo, I would buy Australian. At the time though there was no other option but the SETEC, I see they are running a number in Europe with no issues. And again, I'm not a reseller, agent or otherwise. Easiest warranty exchange ever, one in one out.
