Anyone else having problems logging into Carwings on their phone or website today? It's not accepting my login on either. I was also unable to login carwings since last night.

Hi All,
I picked up my LEAF today. It wasn't from a dealer, so I did not get any Carwings information. When I go to register it is just a blank white screen. Any suggestions on how to get the car linked to the app from scratch?

Hi Heath,
Congrats on getting a LEAF! You'll probably have to contact Nissan to get a new login, you won't get far without knowing the old password. The number to call is 1800 LEAF EV (532 338) or email nissan_leaf@nissan.com.au. It used to be Dean Despotovski who looks after these things but it's been a while since I've contacted them so I don't know if he's still the man. Best of luck sorting it out!

I've been getting a "Service Temporarily Unavailable" message for owners.nissan.com.au/portal/ which is the only way I know to get to Car Wings for the last 2 days. Oh and the phone apps not working for me either. Anyone else in the same boat? Shame for today as its 35 today in Adelaide and I was looking forward to getting into a nice pre-chilled car

I'm trying to see the status of the battery charging on my pc, but I'm not getting anywhere. I am able to login to the owner's portal, but when I click "Retrieve battery status", I get an error message. If I click it again, I get the message "HOME, update requested, might take a few minutes", and then nothing.
If I click the Carwings tab, and then the Carwings icon, I get nothing. Earlier today when I was playing with it, I got the message that I needed to log in again from the Navigation system, which I took to mean using the screen in the car.
So I got in the car and after entering the userid and password, the voice said "connecting", and then I kept getting the message "No Service".
Is Carwings down, or am I doing something wrong?
I thought I'd try asking the forum members first before hassling Dean at Nissan.

Yes, full-on 5 bar mobile reception. The wi-fi signal strength gauge on the navigation display showed 3 bars.

Was your phone tethered to your car? I always thought the signal strength on the display is the one from your phone. The car has good reception, I can always get an update even if it's parked in the basement car park where there's no voice reception.

Yes, I have paired my mobile to the car via bluetooth so that I can use it hands-free. BTW, this is the first car I have ever had that has this facility, so this is a real bonus feature for me as up until now, I have never answered the mobile whilst driving. The clarity of sound through the speakers is so awesome, it's clearer than using earbuds or sticking the phone up to one's ear to expedite the formation of a brain tumour.
I'll try and login again tomorrow.

It requires to bring the car back to the dealer to activate the car. The dealer possibly don't know about that. You should contact Dean. I hope your dealer has all equipments necessary to activate it.

Still haven't got Carwings going. Dean from Nissan finally called me back, and reckons it is because the Carwings SIM uses the 2G network, and I probably haven't got 2G out here in Violet Town. I didn't know the 2G network was still around, so I googled it, a.nd it looks like Telstra will be shutting down the 2G network in 2016. I guess SIM updates will be on the cards as part of the regular services in a couple of years' time Anyway, here is a photo of my Carwings screen. Can anyone tell me what the reception signal showing 3 cars in the top right hand corner designates. Is it just showing the signal strength of my mobile phone, which is connected via bluetooth? I initially thought it was the wifi signal to access Carwings, but obviously not.

Correction to my crappy typing in my post above - that was supposed to be "3 bars" not 3 cars.

I just did an experiment by turning off my phone's bluetooth before I turn on my car. The screen did not show reception signal. Then, I turned my phone's bluetooth on. The bars were displayed after the car connected to my phone.

I am very surprise to hear that Carwings here is using the 2G network. LEAFs in US are using 3G network and thus I am sure the car support 3G connections. If we are using 2G network and it requires new SIM to switch to 3G, it will be very costly to Nissan and inconvenient to LEAF owners.

The one immediately to the left of the back button shows the signal strength of the Car's connection so you are getting signal. Carwings was a royal PITA at the start for me to get working and is flakey so it's probably the carwings system rather than your connectivity.

Website login took ages since yesterday afternoon but I can eventually login. Once login, everything works as usual. Now, there are no responses from the portal. I wonder why Nissan has not implemented any monitoring on CARWINGS services.

I found machine to machine (M2M) sims to only be marginally cheaper on Vodafone or Optus.

Yes extremely annoying! Even the LEAFspy app is not connecting. I wish our cars/services received the attention they deserve.

I can only fantasise about Carwings and I read these posts with envy (even though they are about the bloody thing not working) as I still have never managed to access it. Leaf goes for its first service next week, so I hope they can get it working.
This involves me driving it to Seymour Nissan, leaving it there so they can charge it overnight, and then one of their staff will be taking it to Werribee Nissan in Melbourne. Then the reverse will happen - someone will bring back to Seymour where it will be charged up, and then I will pick it up. Sounds like it will be a several-days operation. Seymour Nissan are providing me with a loan car in the meantime.
