Mine was working until last Sunday. My traveling data is still received on Carwings so it isn’t anything related to the car I guess. It turned out I am another victim of the ageing 12V battery. I changed the battery to Optima D51R-T2. There are two model of Optima D51R in Australia - T1 and T2. T1 for the JIS and T2 for the SAE. I was confused by the "JIS" printed on the battery and not sure which on to buy. Thanks to pharmadave, I identified part number of the battery and found T2 is the one to go. The battery worked well and Carwings worked without any issues.

Good to hear jacky . Glad to hear that carwings is working for you. I'm still on my long journey to get my CarWings working again. So far phone calls and emails to Nissan Headoffice have all been unhelpful and none of my emails have been replied to, quite disappointed with the follow up so far.

So far phone calls and emails to Nissan Headoffice have all been unhelpful and none of my emails have been replied to, quite disappointed with the follow up so far. My experience with Nissan is... - email: they never reply - phone call: they tell me to take the car to the dealer In the last phone call, they told me there are no known outage. What did they say about your Carwings issue?

Right, moved by success stories of changing 12V batteries in rectifying the app remote carwing access, I've disconnected my 12V battery for a minute and reconnect.
Happy to report my suspicion that sometimes the typical IT support response, "have you turn it off and on again?" is indeed fruitful in this instance.
In short, some of you might simply need temporarily disconnect the 12V battery to male it work again.
Do wait for 15 minutes, all good after that.
At last, my carwing works again!!
PS: my 12V battery is indeed due for replacement, resting voltage is getting low at 12.1 volt.

Installed a new 12v battery a couple of weeks back. No change.
Took it to Nissan for servicing a couple of days later and asked them to look at it while they had it. Nothing useful other than telling me to try to re-install my phone app (already done multiple times and irrelevant because the API and Nissan owner's portal don't work either), and then to call Nissan corporate and have them re-configure my account.
I see overseas users have an updated version of the app to go with the 2018 Leaf. Maybe we will get an overhaul when it launches here, but I'd still expect Nissan Australia to utterly ignore their existing customers.

In my experience, I disconnected over 15 mins twice before it was working. On the first time, clocks are reset but the charge schedule didn't clear. Carwings still does not work. Obviously, not all data are cleared. On the second time, the charge schedule also cleared. Carwings is working. I also found my auto windows raise function was disabled. All these disconnects happened before I change my 12V battery. When I change my 12V battery, the clock did not reset. That means the time to disconnect isn't long enough and no electronics are reset. In this case, it doesn't matter as my Carwings was working and didn't need to reset the TCU. In your case, change of battery didn't necessary reset the TCU. I would disconnect the TCU for more than 15 minutes. After reconnect the battery, check the electronics are reset and then test Carwings functions. If the electronics are not reset, repeat the process (may be leave it disconnected a bit longer).

"I also found my auto windows raise function was disabled."
- to fix, manually close up the window all the way and keep holding the up button for another 10 sec or so and release. Then it will be automatic again.

In my experience, I disconnected over 15 mins twice before it was working. I had to deliberately short the car side after disconnecting. Even after disconnecting after couple of minutes, it still has some residual voltage at the car side (1-ish Volt albeit). I was too lazy too wait .

Many thanks - this worked. Hope it lasts this time! Nissan asked me for feedback on my recent service experience. I certainly did so, including the fact that their techs were unable to fix this issue, but a forum post was able to.

At this rate, I might try leaving my battery disconnected overnight as the ultimate test to see if I can get the TCU communicating with the network.

I finally have my leaf back and working after almost 4 months with the local Nissan. Took it in at end of September 2017 because TCU (didn’t know it was that at the time) was draining 12v battery overnight... posted in more detail on battery thread....they ended up getting a Nissan tech out to advise as they couldn’t figure out what the issue was after replacing a few other parts. After installing the new TCU (all under warranty) this week and a minor hiccup with car wings not working - all is back to normal. Not sure what he did to fix the car wings but think it was just a reset as above... I noticed the little car wings link symbol was greyed out when driving home so took it back and he took around an hour to figure out the reset. Not getting the updates yet but the charging stations updated so hopefully will start getting our car wings reports again soon. So pleased to have our Lulu back 😊
