www.nissan.com.au/Forms/Contact-Us They rang me the next working day. They got me to do a number of tests, take screenshots and emailed to csc@nissan.com.au They have contacted me three times now. They were also working with Telstra he said as they believed Telstra was blocking some data. Thanks Stewart, please do keep updating us. I hope the fix is rolled out to everybody. If not, then I have to follow your trail...

I haven't even got the TCU changed yet. Contacted Liverpool, no reply to email. Days later rang them, oh sorry they don't have a Leaf mechanic any more. Not what Nissan website showed at the time. Only other one in range is Nepean, again sent emails, no response. Chased, eventually got an email saying waiting on parts. Never heard back, rang them, promised call back hasn't arrved many weeks later. No email response from HQ when I first bought it and wanted the Carwings login details either. Had to phone the switch. I have a car first sold 18 months ago so in new car warranty, a letter telling me to get the part swapped, have never had the app working (previous owner did last year), and no more time to waste on it. Pretty terrible customer service, can't imagine I'll buy another Nissan next time. Car now bringing up a service alert, no idea how I will get it serviced at this rate. I called Liverpool Nissan, and spoke with the clown there insisting it takes them at least one whole day to fit the TCU, contrary to the official documentation. I haven't returned since. Seemingly it would make more sense to have one guy that knows what he is doing to tour the LEAF owners, and get it done once and for all, without playing games of guess. So, I'm sitting back until this happens. It's remarkably easy to do the change-over, yet it's a great mystery to our learned franchisees. Mr Nissan.. if you're listening to this, do you want someone with more than the ability to carry a spanner, to do this?, I'll get each one done in quick time, and stop Nissan Australia appearing Neanderthal.

Pretty shoddy! Tried Steve Jarvin Nissan in Burwood? They seem to have the most exposure to LEAFs in Sydney. At least when it comes to Sydney members here. Yes, SJN seem to be the most knowledgeable about the Leaf in Sydney. Never had an issue with them, they changed the TCU over no problems and Carwings was working within a few days. When we bought the car in 2014, Matt was evangelical about it, at no point did they try to sell us an ICE instead

After ringing Nissan and putting in an official fault a couple of weeks ago, full functionality has been restored to my Carwings. Retrieving battery status and setting climate/charging finally works again.

Nice result. So does it need to be done on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis? I tried www.nissan.com.au/Forms/Contact-Us but got the same response as all my other attempts to contact Nissan, the silence is deafening. Except for the app , which keeps tellin' me I need to register my User ID from the vehicle navigation system, which in turn tells me that to use car wings I need an account.

Nice result. So does it need to be done on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis? I expect so. It looks like your issue is an account problem, where mine was working fine and some, but not all functions just stopped one day. I rang Nissan and spoke to a nice lady who took all my details and logged a fault, and it came good a couple of weeks later. Nobody ever rang me back though.... Good luck with yours.

Anyone else having issues with their CarWings? I seem to have lost App control since May 4th (Star Wars day as a coincidence).

Yep been down for me too. Never bloody ends with this thing. I'm kind of glad to hear it's not just me. I made a call to Nissan, couldn't get any of the Leaf experts, left a message. Now we wait.

My original problem from several weeks ago was fixed (no commands / control) and all was well for a while. Now all the trip data has stopped. I can still retrieve battery data and control the A/C but no trip data since the 8th May. Is this similar to what others are seeing ?

Does Carwings work in Australia? I have tried to set it up numerous times and it won't register our car. 3G Followed the instructions sent to me and same result.
Even if it did work are there many charging stations that it would show? I have heard of one at Fed square and that was all. Charging at home over night however works fine for us. Ross

Mine started working a few days after my 3G upgrade but I mailed Nissan about it. They didn't get back to me but maybe they did something at their end. Some owners here are less fortunate and are still without working Carwings.

I have never got it going so I wasn't interested in waiting around for the 3G up grade when I had a service the other day. It took me some time to convince them not to do it and then I had to sign something to say that was my instruction. They said it meant I wouldn't get any other upgrades. I can't see that that matters. My LEAF is out of warranty and I don't plan to sell it.

Mine is now working properly again. The trip data was not being uploaded, and I reset the TCU by removing the 12v battery neg lead for a few minutes, and topped up the battery as well. The data appeared on the carwings site a few hours later, and is still working.

I believe the issue that people are experiencing with CarWings and the 3g TCU update is to do with the 12V battery having low voltage, apparently the 3g tcu needs more power than the 2g (maybe?) Here is a youtube link regarding this, quite a common issue experienced by overseas Leaf drivers after they've had the TCU update. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYiwBG9887YI noticed that my electric window motor being super slow and sluggish lately and I can only put it down to the 12v battery on it's last legs. I will put a new battery in it and report back on how it goes. Transport Evolved's Leaf had the same issue and replaced the 12V battery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_EHoLTIIAE

I'll remember that. All I knew about the 12v battery was that if it was flat, the car won't start.

Just ordered an Optima D51R which is the bee's knees in terms of starter batteries apparently. I will pop that one in once it arrives and report back on the results. I have been meaning to have the 12V battery replaced before this winter anyways, it's getting on a bit and the thought of the car not starting due to a 'flat' 12v battery is not ideal. If this swap fixes carwings in my car, it'll be some kind of breakthrough.

After disconnecting / connecting the 12v battery I found that the drivers window auto close function needs to be retrained. ie, you manually close it all the way and hold the button for another 5 secs and let go. Then it remembers and works OK.

I put an optima d51r in a month back, battery voltage is good, so I still don't know why it's not consistent. Seems to work when on charge, but not otherwise, like the tcu is shutting off.

Your lucky to have carwings .. I purchased my leaf from Steve Jarvin Nissan in Dec 2015 with the promise that any Nissan dealer and specifically my local dealer in Port Macquarie would provide service and warranty ...no way .. I love the leaf but will never buy another Nissan . Nissan Australia have been totally unhelpful and impossible to communicate with. Now I lost 1 bar with only 12000 klms and no chance of any sensible response unless I pay to freight the car for a 600klm round trip.

Now I lost 1 bar with only 12000 klms and no chance of any sensible response unless I pay to freight the car for a 600klm round trip. I wouldn't bother with that if I were you. I lost 1 bar at 7400kms, because it is determined partly by the age of the car and I don't travel very far. You may not have taken delivery of your LEAF until Dec 2015 but it had been sitting there for years with its battery installed. So you would go to all that cost to be told it was within normal expectations. My LEAF is serviced by KLOSTER NISSAN, Newcastle. That may still be a long way for you, but it's a lot closer than Sydney, if you really want someone to look at it.

New battery went in last night. following instructions found online. The car seems to have reset itself with respect to CarWings, however no luck with getting it online. I have the CarWings username and password, entered it but it could not log in. The troubleshooting continues...

My Carwings app has been unable to access data and climate control (showing updated but 0 everything) in the last couple of months. So, wrote via www.nissan.com.au/Forms/Contact-Us and to my surprise they call back! Tristan (the chap on Nissan's line) did explain that this is a known problem and they're trying to rectify the issue. Oh well, no remote climate control for me then! I might have to go back buying ICE just because of this issue. Oh wait...

Rang them today after unanswered emails and their own contact form going nowhere. Their Leaf tech has now left. Apparently due to them being bought they have lost some staff. They directed me to what will now be my attempt number #4 to get my in-warranty car serviced and follow up on the letter they sent me about TCU replacement - Sydney CIty NIssan. I will be seriously pushing the range to get there, and worse home again uphill. I read about someone hacking a 3rd party TCU so if I give up on ever getting that replaced by Nissan, perhaps someone who actually cares about these cars wants to set up a business to take my money servicing it?!

Transport Evolved's Leaf had the same issue and replaced the 12V battery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_EHoLTIIAE I can confirm this symptom with my Leaf. Recently I have problem with Carwings connection gone off for weeks, I thought something to do with Carwings server. You can check the 12V accessory battery using a multimeter or using LeafSpy Lite. Leave your Leaf off overnight, start your Leaf up without Brake and let LeafSpy connects, on voltage histogram screen the accessory battery voltage and in out current are shown near bottom left hand corner. It should be at about 12V, below 10.8V then it has a problem, replace it or charge it up with an external charger and try again next morning. Note that when you start your Leaf with Brake on, then car's DC/DC converter will charge the 12 battery but voltage you see is not true battery status. Replace my 5 year old battery with $167 Century NS60LS MF battery from Supercheap Auto fixed my Carwings problem.
