Hi all
I'm in the market for a Nissan leaf and I'm wondering how many have come up for sale on Pickles Auctions?the reason I ask this is that I have seen the ACT government has quite a few of them, in fact there is two at my work that never get driven and I'm presuming that they are sold through the auctions when their lease is up. I am really hoping I can pick up one for around the $20,000 Mark some time in the future.
Cheers

They're just about giving away 10 bar Leafs in the US market.

I'll give mine away when I stop driving when I turn 80, but that's 7 years away

I have noted a few come up here, but not one sold for less than $29k. The lower priced one recently had a damaged rear & bumper. Despite AU Gov attempting to 'discourage' people from buying EV's, they are still a vehicle in demand. You may be lucky and get one for around that figure if you wait long enough. I was very close to buying an imiev at the beginning of this year, which sold for $6.5k... sadly it was a conditionional opportunity I missed. I had a maximum figure, and it exceeded that. I'm kicking myself now!.
I watch all the auctions & opportunities myself weekly, in the hope I may get the correct conditions. I'd like an imiev to compliment our transport items.
The ACT ones can be bought with the correct amount I have been told. I was offered one myself, but the price was in excess of $30k. Good luck with hunting one down all the same.

Dealer price sadly. Auctions you can occasionally grab a bargain from, but few & far between. My requirement suits an imiev perfectly. Simple local dash-about. They aren't exactly the most siloubrious of transport modes, yet perfectly suited to local movement. It's looking like the prices for them are settling out, and examples like the ones above are good value. They are not surrounded by adverse propaganda, which, albeit semi-truthful, the leaf has been tarred with. The initial noises apply to both of them, the leaf more-so owing to its popularity. Once the exorbitant AU tax gouge has been shed that's applied to EV's, both the imiev & leaf are exceptional value. They are in great demand now the price to own one is sensible, and of course potential buyers that were initially deterred from purchasing one, see value for their Dollar now.

Nissan has very much helped our resale short term (although not long term) by no longer selling new LEAFs. In the meantime a second hand one remains the only option.
Current prices are around $20k for a second hand-ie so that is 50% residual after 5 years (we paid $40k new) which is solid.

Agreed, the reliability makes them worth owning. If one buys second hand, you dodge the great tax loss to start with. It would have to be a pretty poor example to be sub-20k. Then your getting into imiev territory then, and they are holding their price quite well now the initial new car tax losses have been absorbed. It's looking like the EV market is a pretty solid one. I recall bidding on a imiev, which I foolishly allowed to slip away for $6.5k. They are at least double that now, and 9 months older too!. Only other EVs are $100k+, and that has little appeal to me. Advice is if you see one cheap, any of the three, grab it. There's really very little that can go wrong with them, unless buckled badly.

The leaf is a good buy, no battery bar loss, good nick. 14 hours for trickle charge, don't think so.. Funniest is when you look in the photos, the last is a 4 cents per litre fuel voucher. Laughed at that one!

Similar 4cents when Paceway Mitsubishi tried to book my Imiev in for service. They must read whatever is in front of them like the anchorman
