I thought you guys might be interested in knowing that the NZTA (New Zealand Transport Agency, which is a government agency) released some recommendations today for public charging in NZ. www.nzta.govt.nz/planning-and-investment/planning/planning-for-electric-vehicles/national-guidance-for-public-electric-vehicle-charging-infrastructure/charging-point-connectors/In brief: - For DC fast charging they recommended DC fast charge installations have at least two tethered cables, namely Chademo and CCS Combo Type 2; and Type 2 AC socket additionally provided
- For public AC charging it was recommended a Type 2 socket outlet is provided. This would require Leaf owners to provide their own Type 1 to Type 2 cable, but it’s the most flexible option
I'm actually a bit surprised that the government have provided this amount of leadership, but I'm pleased they have, and I think the decisions are good.

By the way, in order to get over legacy issues, Charge.Net.nz are planning on changing all their CCS Type 1 connectors with CCS Type 2 connectors on their Tritium Veefils; and apparently BMW are going to recall all their i3s (not that there can be that many of them) and replace the inlets from Type 1 to Type 2.

I have a recommendation.
Can they manage NSW's poltry attempts at a charging infrastructure. We need them outside of the Sydney CBD. Not everyone with an EV lives close enough to the square km of Sydney.
Please.

Three phase Type 2 is the best solution for us. Australia should follow suit.
