I am currently lobbying Logan IKEA to install chargers - have sent messages to all levels and got this back today from the Store Manager:
Hi Caroline,
This is the first time any one has brought this up with me, I will definitely follow up on it for you.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Kind regards, Renea

Hi Caralyn, that is great to hear. I have a particular interest in Ikea having chargers because they have a plan for a new store on the north side of Brisbane, somewhere around North Lakes. Last year I attempted to contact the national sustainability manager after reading an interview with him, but several emails to Ikea went unanswered. The Ikea website is very short on contact details or phone numbers. There is info about Ikea having chargers in 18 countries on pg 54 of their 2015 sustainability report that you might like to use as a bit of extra support. If you can pm me about how you contacted the store manager, I'd be happy to do the same.

Also sent messages to National Sustainability manager - and the Oz GM...heard back last week from Brad Delaney Customer Relations Manager: Hi Caroline and thank you for the feed back. I agree that would be frustrating. I will pass on to the CR manager at Logan as I am now with the North Lakes team. Thanks again. Brad

I posted on their Facebook page about it last year when their Tempe store had the largest private solar array in Australia and they said it was a great idea and would pass it on. Wonder if it was just a social media person paying lip service? Hope you get more traction!

I always feel virtuous driving the Leaf to Ikea - feels like I'm in tune with the mission. It also can take very big boxes (as per my post about the 245cm box that fitted). So yes, they should have EV chargers there!

Just got an eamil from the Logan store manager - they are looking into what their stores do overseas for EV chargers - she said she would keep me updated so sounds promising

This is what IKEA do in Europe. This was in Rennes last week. You are welcome to use the photo, multi rapid charger, free, and just near the main entrance. IKEA have free chargers at all thier stores. And we did buy things whist there, and the hotdogs are the same price

I have contacted IKEA nationally to see if they will put in an EV chargepoint. Given their 'green' credentials and what they do in other countries, it may be a starter. I am offering to donate a Siemens Versicharge L2 32 amp if they will install it.
cheers

For what its worth; Hi Stewart, Thank you for contacting IKEA. We do appreciate you taking out the time to give us your feedback on the electric car charging points. I have shared your feedback with the relevant departments for their attention. Thank you for this feedback which helps us to improve our services and facilities for our customers in the future. Kind regards, Janelle Customer Service

It's great that they have the chargers there, but 30 mins charging time is a bit of a problem if you are working your way through the IKEA maze - you'd have to run out to unplug and move your car then go back in again! Or not charge until you are done shopping and you want to sit down with some Swedish meatballs
