Has anyone taken an extended warranty on the LEAF? I am coming up to the three years expiry point. Not sure whether to buy an extension or just let it go. Had my three year service yesterday, once again the dealer try to charge more than double the current schedule until reminded then reduced it to 1.5 times due to an unexpected wheel alignment. On a positive note, even with capacity bar loss, the trip from sunshine coast to Brisbane(105km) was done with ~20km to spare, no aircon. Seems that the software update has either found some capacity or the guess o meter is telling less lies..

A little more capacity has been unlocked, The battery management has been tweaked (less regen at high charge), and the GOM algorithm has been adjusted. the main goal was to get more life out of the battery.

I had my 3 year service nearly 6 months ago and I haven't taken out an extended warranty. Kloster Nissan, Newcastle never try to charge me too much for a service, in fact it is usually less because I don't get my air con filter changed as I don't use my air con and that is always deducted from my bill. If something needs fixing I'll pay for it, as I trust the Kloster mob not to charge me too much.
