This may draw some comment, but I have written to the major and minor fuel companies to support EV charge points in their car parks. It will support their green profile, plus some other advantages like;
Low cost of infrastructure Low cost of energy A captive customer for 30 minutes- giving opportunity for coffee, food etc Brand loyalty with normal fuels
I will share whatever positives I get back, if any. While I'm not holding my breath, I thought it may be worth a try..
Cheers Stew

a petrol station isn't the nicest place to charge that I can think of... but something is better than nothing. saying that this is the only petrol station with a charging station I know of in the country and it has some good feedback on it api.plugshare.com/view/location/17896

This is my 100th post... so I believe by this measure at least I'm now "elite" I've often thought this would make sense, although more at the "service centre" type petrol stations on motorways, rather than your normal suburban station, which may not have anywhere nice to sit inside while u wait. I guess you could always go for a walk, but then they get no financial upside if you do that.

I agree, the main 'roadhouse' idea sounds better. With fast food outlets, big seating area.

mmmmmm I have mentioned that to chargepoint when I was talking to them on the phone a few weeks ago, they are trying to recruit the petrol giants I think. We sure need them, I need to go to Belmont & Orange Grove here in WA on a regular basis and it is abit err tricky at the present time living in Rockingham.

In urban areas, the car wash cafe style places. Fast charge, cleaned car and a coffee. They're meant to be waterproof aren't they?

Yes I do use plugshare, I checked out the caravan park awhile ago and I think they charge $ 38 a charge, not economical to pay that much, waste of time buying EVs if I have to pay that much for a recharge. Will check out the home charge you mentioned. Thanks.

Just checked it out, not suitable, says he's only got a 10amp socket, I would be there all day waiting for the car to charge, good socialising though I guess, we could sit round and talk about EVs all day. What is the type of charging plug our leafs use g4qber ? Is it J1772 ?

Yes it is j1772 but with pilot signal pin 5 At reechos place you would need to use your own evse
A while ago I charged at a bp near the burrendah tavern in willetton
There is also a bp in a ascot with truck driver facilities Hence 10 / 15 amp power

RAC near the airport. You will have to buy a cable though. It uses a different plug.

Willetton was a one off unofficial charge. There is a 10 amp socket on the side of the building. Haven't been back there since. <edited to haven't > A few bps in Perth have solar on their roofs

HAAAAA, unofficial, illegal ? Did they know you were charging ? That's good, a new offence, stealing electricity, I can see it now on the news, all us EV owners running away from petrol stations after being caught by the tv news plugging our cars in. Anyway, I have been told you can buy the 10amp adaptor from bunnings for about $ 70 is that correct ? Also how long did it take ? I imagine on a 10amp socket it would take quite awhile ? How many bars charged in how long ?

Wasn't stealing this time. I did ask the attendant. Who didn't think that socket was live. Then he turned a blind eye to it. I was there for karaoke. Can't remember exact details. Was a moderate top up. Used the volt 10 amp evse which already has a 10 amp socket.

The volt charge cable is available from Holden for about $350 and works perfectly with the Leaf. It has a standard 10 amp plug so you don't need an adaptor. For that reason, I have swapped it with the Nissan EVSE and now carry that one with me in case I need to charge away from home in an emergency.
The Nissan EVSE remains in my garage plugged into the wall (with the Jaycar adaptor for now).

I will have to look into that, my Nissan dealer told me the adaptor from bunnings was $70, big difference, will look into it and get back to you.
