It's been a while since I dipped into the forum...
We've just come back from a 2 week overseas holiday. Before we left I charged the Leaf to 80% (it was down to 1 bar - I believe it is not good to leave it on such a low charge for an extended time).
When we got back, the charge was down to 8 bars (2 bars lost) and 98 km range non-eco. So 1 bar of charge lost per week.
Is this about what would be expected? I was expecting some charge loss, but not 2 bars.

Yes mate, I have found that with my two leafs as well, if I disconnect the charger they will typically loose one bar over two or three days, doesn't bother me much. I now leave the charger on them till I am ready to swap them over, seems to keep them at 80%.

When I returned Leaf Spy still showed 38%, so virtually no loss at all. My MNL reading tells me that HV battery storage for periods like this is best at or below 40%, so I recommend this from my experience. Anyone wanting to try this who doesn't have Leaf Spy or similar, if you do a manual charge and 2 range bars are showing on the display, the point where bar 3 just appears is between 37-38% SoC; that 's a good place to leave your battery in storage.

I went overseas for 5 weeks and lost 2 bars (was nine, when I left, 7 when I got back). But when I drove, it took along time for the 7th bar to go, so it must have just been under. The manual says fill to 80% and leave disconnected.

where do you get a leaf spy from ? Leaf Spy is a phone/tablet app for android or iOS. You also need a bluetooth or wifi scanner that plugs into your car OBD port, under the steering wheel, and sends data to your app. Buy your scanner online - search using key words like 'super mini elm327', 'OBD2', 'v.1.5', 'can bus', 'bluetooth' (or wifi), from Amazon etc. Read all the info for your selected purchase before you buy, to be sure it is right for your car/phone. Ask for support on this forum if you are not sure...

When I last went away for two weeks it dropped only marginally. (from 80%).
Will see this time. Away for 11 weeks.

Left my French leaf at around 60% for 7 months, 12 volt battery disconnected. Charged the 12 volt overnight on separate charger, then connected up. Car had six bars and charged to 12 in 2 hours, no issues. Clipper creek LCS 25. The French dealer said 50% then disconnect the 12 volt for long storage.
Cheers Stew

I'm guessing the unsold ones use the battery disconnect in the rear floor, I'd expect the battery to hold charge for at least months and maybe years that way.

Been away from home for seven weeks now. Had a friend check on the range of my car. 84km. I had charged to 80% before leaving so that is ~120km. A third in two months.
Now will it degrade in a linear fashion or logarithmic?
Must find a paperclip.

Have you tried using carwings to monitor the state of charge?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using proboards

I had to get a friend to start it up. I have read somewhere that after two weeks of inactivity it stops communicating with Carwings. It was just coming back with 0km remaining. After he started it up I had the 84km.
Had I been more organised I would have monitored it every week.

Error to my post above. 80% range now only 100km. So 22km over 12 weeks or less than 250Wh/week. Time to look for that paperclip.
