I do the same trip 3 times a week. 10km there and back, mostly downhill there and mostly uphill back. On Thursday I left home with a range of 132kms and arrived back again with a range of 132kms. The circumstances have to be just right, and it may never happen again, but I enjoyed that

Sounds like you have a perpetual motion machine We can do an 8 km round trip - uphill there, downhill back, and arrive home with a greater predicted range than when we left home. But this is due to the progressive averaging of the software involved.

I guess if my downhill was on the way home instead of on the way out, I might manage the same result as you. I know it is a trick of the software, but it is fun

hahah well done. my range is more like the opposite of the perpetual motion machine....start the trip with 140klm, do 50klm and have an empty battery! But every klm is fun

Yes, Duncan. I saw your comment 'And finally, my favourite feature.....the hooning. This car is damn quick around town, nothing sticks with it if I decide to move through traffic. The throttle response is the best of any car I have driven, including a bunch of race cars' and wondered what effect that had on your range. Now I know ;D Seriously though, it does show just how much of a guesstimate by our LEAF's computer of our future driving habits, the range on our dial at any one moment is. It is nothing like a fuel gauge on a petrol car and its not terribly helpful when circumstances mean you have a long trip and have to push the battery to its range limit, as I do when I drive more than 150km from Maitland to Artarmon to get my LEAF serviced.
