Our local EV pioneer/advocate/Tesla owner(x2) Steve West and friends look like they are putting up some money to part-fund installation of fast chargers, the rest of the money coming from on-line crowd funding, where the "group would have rapid-charger stations in the city [Auckland] by the end of May and a shipment of 20 would follow soon after."

While the crowd funding doesn't seem to have started yet, but "Every potential charging site was listed as a separate equity crowd-funded sub-campaign".

While "They had not promoted their website yet because the charger stations were not in place", you can see it in all its glory here:

While the make and model of charger isn't mentioned in either the news item or the charge.net.nz website, the home page has a picture of a Tritium Veefil, and they go on to say "All our chargers support both CHAdeMO and CCS charging standards."

Of course earthquakes and a change of administration have gotten in the way of progress, but five years on from the article there is still nothing here.

Lets hope the privately funded model works out.
