Welcome to the forum and congrats on your LEAF! Kind of funny, mine was the very first privately owned LEAF in the country, which we got through Steve Jarvin, and yours is the last! G'day all. I'm new to this forum because I am a new Leaf owner. To answer Fengs comment above. I just bought the last of the 2 red ones at Steve Jarvin. A lady drove off in the other one as I arrived. I was told mine was the last one in NSW. I pick it up in a couple of weeks. It would be sooner but I have work commitments and can't get there. I was told the reason for slow sales has been "lazy salesmen". The condition of a dealership to sell the GTR is to also sell the Leaf. Dealers have the leaf on their books, but the only are interested in selling the GTR. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, and learning lotsa stuff on this forum.

Hi brotherblonde, congrats on your purchase! Always fun to share the excitement when new owners join the forum.
I'm wondering if we'll be having another owners meet this year, maybe when there are quick chargers to visit outside of Sydney.

A lady drove off in the other one as I arrived. I was told mine was the last one in NSW. Care to reveal what your drive-away price was? Just wondering how heavy the discounting is now for an effectively 4-year old car. Looking forward to the next wave of EVs coming into Oz. Rightly or wrongly, I think a range of >300km is needed to wash away "range anxiety" in most prospective buyers (even though current gen EVs are fine as a second car because 95+% of daily trips are much less than the fully charged range anyway but ICE driver mindset doesn't think like that). There's still an issue of lack of charging infrastructure which will inhibit people whose residential accommodation has no off-street parking (hence nowhere to charge overnight), which in a city like Sydney is actually a quite high proportion. My "adoption wave" theory for EVs in Australia goes like this: - Bleeding edge adopters - EV is second car and owner has off-street parking for overnight charging
- Trailblazers - EV has range of 300+ km, public charging infrastructure makes main highway travel feasible with some planning
- Mass adoption - EV has range of 500+ km, public charging infrastructure is commonplace.
In Australia were are curently at (1). Norway is at (3) although EV range doesn't need to be 500km there since distances are much smaller and public charging infrastructure close to ubiquitous.

I'll just add that in Norway, over one-third of all new vehicle sales are now BEVs and PHEVs. One-third!!! That is extraordinary in my view, a real tipping point. The government is now considering phasing out incentives for electric cars since they are becoming so commonplace (and the subsidies are costing them too much!).

Hello! Does anyone know if all the Leafs have that white upholstery - it seemed so vulnerable to marking and stains - how have people solved that? I imagine most of the members of this forum are the kind of person who gets about in oily overalls, as I do? Does everyone buy seat covers? Are they easy to get to fit on a Leaf? I have 2 messy kids and no issues yet - we have a no food rule - though there have been a few stains, scuffs and spills they wipe off pretty easily.

Hi brother blonde, You are going to love the Leaf. I can't wait to get in it every day. Such a smooth refined quiet ride with no lack of power, with perfect comfort inside the cabin every time. No more getting into searng hot cars on a hot day. Set the climate control to the perfect temperature (I like 22.5 and just hit the Auto button) Perfect in Summer and Winter. And the car has a good enough interior to impress your friends. I actually bought the car unseen, but was not dissapointed when it arrrived. Easily the best car I have every driven. Once you've driven electric, you can never go back to an ICE car.

Kiwi sales are making progress with company purchases... None of them Leaf. Nissan should be ashamed on this one... My Leaf dealer told me late last year that Air New Zealand had firm plans to buy Leafs - Nissans loss.

I was at Nissan Moorooka (Bris) yesterday for my car's 20K service, and snapped this red Leaf on display. I think it is a pity that they haven't dropped the ticket price a bit further, given how low the sales have dropped, and that the cars have now been stored for nearly four years. I think it is time for Nissan to bite the bullet and sell off the last of this batch at a discount. Attachments:

Good find - Nissan has been very tight lipped to date with what might be coming down the pipeline and when. But with that timing they may not beat Tesla Model 3 by much, if at all. If a long range EV had come along next year (as in a real car available for sale) I would have had a dilemma regarding my Model 3 reservation. Although for long range driving, the Tesla supercharger network to me is the deal sealer.
