In California at the moment and just drove past the head Tesla factory today. Very cool!
Also drove my brother's 2014 LEAF today, doesn't feel significantly different than our LEAFs, the "B" mode is interesting, heavy drag with major regen, really cool on big long hills. I generated 9 miles going down a 2 mile hill.

It's 'be kind to seniors' week back in Oz Jim. Got our Leaf back with heater repaired (a junction box problem), grateful to have it although 6 weeks is a long time for a fix. The Tesla guy tells me they would never do that to a customer, such a sweet talker. Model S is a real neck cracker to drive, shame about the price tag. www.dropbox.com/s/byv445z98y803n0/2014-08-24%2020.10.50.jpg?dl=0

Congrats on getting your car back Kris! 6 weeks sounds like a record for any car to be in a workshop.
You look like you're at the helm of a spaceship in that photo. I get the same vibe when I'm in the LEAF... Just a smaller one. Like a shuttlecraft from Star Trek.

Nice analogy, I could warm to the warp drive but the shuttlecraft is a lot more affordable than the Enterprise alas.

You survive that CA shakeup the other day Jim? Did the earth move for you?

Hey Kris,
Been in Seattle all week so didn't feel a thing! My parents in CA said a couple of knick knacks on the shelf tipped over but other than that no evidence.
So glad you have your LEAF back! I'm sure the Tesla guy (was it James?) would love to say that couldn't happen here with them, but since he hasn't delivered a single car I'm not sure how he can make that claim. I'm sure there's something that would stump them and require a special part that gets stuck in customs or something.

Stone Strickland was our Model S chaperone. I went with a mate (he's gonna buy one), some VIP was due in at StarCity when we got back so we got to go around twice. Wish I'd tried harder to score a roadster drive a few years ago when I was stateside, some car share outfit had one available in LA but I let the opportunity slip through my fingers.
Biggest discovery of the evening? The Model S has no spare wheel, no handbrake & no power up tune. Big 3 out of 3 for the Leaf there.
Speaking of Leafs, does anyone know where I can score a free copy of Publication SM2E-1ZE0U0, it's the service manual for our model. Found SM1E-1ZE0U0 online eventually but it seems to be for the 2011 series.

I didn't change my own wheel but I was sure glad I had one for someone else to change

Stone Strickland was our Model S chaperone. I went with a mate (he's gonna buy one) Yeah, my daughter's father-in-law has had one on order for the last 15 months and will probably receive it in the next few weeks. We could order one today and get it in January. Would have to think the early adopters might be a bit upset about that fact!

Model S in the wild, not a rare site in California but thought you'd like it anyway!
