According to the Guiness Book of Records and Nissan's Facebook page - 1. The LEAF set a record for the fastest car in reverse. I don't know of any other civilian car that can go as fast backwards as it goes forwards. Military types might observe that therefore it should sell well in a certain Northern Mediterranean country. 2. The LEAF set the record for the greatest number of all-electric cars in one place - 225, some place in U.K.. The Poms are getting the message. They probably like the ability to pre-warm their cars on frosty English mornings

Kel, welcome.
I suspect that standard LEAFs have speed limiters on reverse, to reduce the chance of nasty accidents. It would make an interesting insurance claim - ' travelling at 80 kph in reverse, another vehicle got in the way '.
If there is such a limiter, it must have been de-activated for that record.
