I was commuting down Windsor road McGrath's hill a couple of weekends back, engaged in a game of cat & mouse with a young P plater in a lowered Supra (I need to figure out a way to get the reversing camera on in D so I can better appreciate the act of leaving them behind when the lights change). Anyway I came across another blue Leaf, driven by a lol, so I honked loudly & overtook her as well. She probably thought I was senile &/or crazy, I probably am. It's just that the staid look of the Leaf, combined with the excellent low speed torque, can be a powerful teaching aid when it comes to educating P platers in sports cars.

I also saw a blue Leaf near Toorak Village, Melbourne last week. Looks like all the ones I come across are blue, including ours as well Jim, I think you need to make a new board for EV Spotting and move all related threads there as there are like 50 of them, all about the same thing.

Lots of other threads are repeated many times over. It would be a huge task to sort all that out!

I picked my boss up from the airport this morning and saw a Telsa Model S P85+ parked in the pickup area. Got excited, shame I didn't have time to park and strike up a conversation.

No way! That's so cool. I'll have to see if my daughter's father-in-law got his yet. If so maybe I can convince him to come on the 27th!

I wonder if anyone will read the side and think the 12V solar panel on the bootlid is its source of power?

I saw the BNE Leaf was parked (and plugged in) at the Chargepoint location near the Brisbane airport. I stopped by today on my way home from the airport to see the chargepoint and plug in while getting a haircut at the shopping center near by. Unfortunately, the BNE Leaf was plugged in and sitting fully charged. I was tempted to unplug it and plug mine in, but decided against it since I have enough range to get home with two bars remaining. The chargepoint is positioned quite interestingly...it's inside the gated parking area, but easily accessible to the public since the cord is quite long....but the public parking space is hashed out, implying I might get towed. Quite a mixed message at that installation.
On a side note, the best chargepoint location is the Natural Food Store in Forest Glenn on the Sunshine Coast. It's located right at the front entrance to a very busy market. I plugged in there for a few hours one weekend and sat in the coffee shop watching the heads turning and random discussion / finger pointing at the charging EV. One guy spent several minutes inspecting the car and the chargepoint display repeatedly. It made for an amusing time while waiting for the top up to complete the drive back to the south side of Brisbane.

I just saw the movie "Transcendence" and noticed that it had a Leaf in the movie, the first movie ever where I saw a Leaf... It was an interesting choice as they were in a supposedly very remote town in the middle of nowhere. They either chose it for its futuristic (ala Feng's comments) looks (there was only a side shot and a shot from behind) or because it was used in a field of solar panels.

You will spot one briefly in the new Robo Cop movie too!

Dropped my car in for the free 1000km service last week and decided to walk to work (45 minutes or so). Going down a few side streets I see a Red Leaf parked outside a house . Very handy to use the charger at the Nissan dealership as they could put it on charge there and walk 10 minutes to home.

This brings up ' charge etiquette ' ( again )
To mitigate the inconvenience of being EVed, I believe we should leave our mobile phone numbers visible on the dashboard.
This way, the person needing the charge (A) could call the person who was hooked up (B), and (A) could ask permission to unplug (B), if he was showing fully charged, or enquire when (B) expected to be fully charged.
If I was (B), I would not object to such a call.

... I see you've cut down the license plate frame too - nice. The plastic Licence plate holder was annoying me, so I checked it out, and it turns out it's only held on by two screws and some double sided tape. Piece of cake.

TV program Sunday Night (I think that was the name of it). With all the crazy crashes. Reporter driven around Moscow in a Tesla.
edit: opps. Was suppose to be in EV spotting. Still it came out nicely in a Tesla post. Lucky, could have been in charging to 100%.

Two Leafs in Christchurch! The start of a take-over?? Perhaps we should call them dicotyledons? (One of our eagle-eyed children walking to school spotted the blue one, and ran home to tell us. So on the return (EV powered journey), we had to park behind it and take a few pics. The blue one looks like it's owned by the Christchurch City Council. Way to go CCC!) Attachments:

you should contact them and ask them about putting in some public charging you wouldn't want them to play 2nd fiddle to city of sydney council 12 leafs and 2 public charging locations or even Lake macquire council 1 i-miev and 1 public charging location.

Ahh, yes, back in 2010 the Mayor back then had big plans for rolling out EVs in Christchurch ... Snippets from some 2010 media coverage here: "Electric cars may be on Christchurch streets by 2012, with plans that the city be the first in New Zealand to create a charge-point network. The Christchurch City Council and the Renault-Nissan Alliance have joined forces to introduce zero-emission vehicles to the city, with plans to launch the electric Leaf car in 2012. Nissan says the Leaf model will be ideal for Christchurch.... Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker said he wanted the city to be the first in New Zealand with an integrated network for electric cars."www.stuff.co.nz/environment/3318727/Electric-cars-in-Christchurch-by-2012But then the earthquakes started - actually its four years ago this week - and everything changed...
