Greetings fellow EV enthusiasts,
I just bought a Leaf yesterday. It's a fantastic car...I keep finding surprising features, like rain sensing wipers, etc. The dealer gave me a manual, but it seems only to cover the electronic system (nav and entertainment). Where is the information about things like the charge ports, trip computer, spare tire, charging options, etc....all the mechanical stuff? It's reasonably self explanatory, but always handy to have it for an unexpected situation, such as finding jack points if I need to change a tire, etc. Did anyone get a second manual covering the mechanical stuff?

Hi Mike, I got given three booklets with the car.
1) Covers Service schedules / warranties etc 2) Car User Manual 3) Nav and entertainment system.
One thing my dealer neglected to mention to me on handover that took a week or so to realise was the manual entry key is inside the keyfob. There is a small spring loaded latch on the back of the fob that lets it out.

Welcome to the club Mike! When I got mine it also came with a small booklet on how to charge and care for your EV.
Out of curiosity, inside your manual there should be a sticker showing the build date of your car. Can you tell us when it was? I'm wondering what the delay is since mine was 14 months old by the time I bought it. Nissan's inventory is overstocked.

Welcome Tyre Kicker (this post promotes me out of Tyre Kicker status).
Having picked up my Leaf last Monday and spent the past week going through the manuals I can assure you there are two manuals that come with the vehicle. The one you appear to have 'Electric Vehicle Information System Owners Manual' and 'Owners Manual'. Contact the dealer and ask for the second one. It definitely has jacking points (p 6-4), spare tyre (p 6-2) and trip computer (p 2-21). If he says there is not one put his phone number up on the forum and we can all call him and advise them to advise them to get some more training.
I hate to disappoint you Feng but I got a 2014 Leaf. It says so on the rego. So it only has a 3.3 charger and the charger still in the back. But I am sure they got it in just for me. Silver N2029367. Yes. OK. It is still from the same batch. But we are one closer to the next batch being brought over.

Welcome Mike. If your dealer doesn't hurry up and get you the other manual contact Dean Despotovski , Nissan LEAF Customer Specialist , on 1800 LEAF EV (1800 532 338) or email him at nissan_leaf@nissan.com.au and I'm sure he will sort your dealer out, quick time!

Thanks for all the information. I will definitely follow up with the dealer for the missing hard copy owners manual. The soft copy has answered my immediate questions. Feng, the build date of my Leaf is July 2012.

Thanks for the info Mike. So did Nissan bring in 1000 LEAFS right at the start or something? They must have been incredibly optimistic.

sounds like they were drinking the Shai Agassi Kool-Aid. I drank it myself. I thought that Better Place was going to make it. But then I tend to be gullible for tech things. I bought the Apple Newton Palm Pilot Casio GPS watch Sony Solar Walkman. Sony Amorphous Solar Jumbotron radio Casio Tough Solar Gulfman Casio Solar Scientific calculators TopField DVR

A weakness for the TechHead bottle? It's OK g4qber you are among friends. I've been the proud owner of 8 track cartridge players & Betamax VCRs, both technically superior to the competition at the time. We won't even mention my Australian made BWD CRO.

Purchased last wee: build date July 2013, Compliance date Jan 2014.

build date July 2013, Compliance date Jan 2014. Is that a typo or is it really July 2013 and not 2012?? Mine is June 2012 and I thought it was from the last imported batch...
