Has anyone else noticed how the LED display appears sometimes as if it was dirty? This usually happens on start up and seems to disappear after some driving. It almost seems like the display has not been burnt in yet and I am hoping it will get better with more use. I have reported this the the Nissan service people at the 1000km service, but they had no clue as to what it is. They told me to watch it and come back if still a problem. Hence, I am keen to find out if I am the only one with this issue.

I have never noticed mine to look like that - mind you I mightn't see if unless I have my glasses on.

I've never seen that and believe it is a dodgy display on your car.
I definitely would be expecting a repair or replacement from Nissan

Nope, never seen anything like that. Definitely bring it up with them again next time with the knowledge it's not normal.

YES!!
My leaf had this problem. It started around 1000km and by 3000km every character was getting worse and worse. NISSAN replaced the entire LCD panel

About 3 weeks after getting the new LCD screen replaced Nissan called and told me there were a few batches of the LCD screen made in Japan which were not sealed correctly and if the car was left in direct sunlight it would heat up and the panel would start to "ghost"

Thanks Phil. We are just about to take our LEAF for its 10k service and I will show them this thread! Hope they will fix it as sometimes it is still bad...

I have dropped our Leaf for an overnight service as problem was more likely to occur in the morning. Initially they said that if they cannot reproduce it then they won't replace the LCD. However, I showed them this thread and gave them the URL. When I came to pick it up, they said that they did not see the problem, however, they decided to order a new screen after seeing this thread and my picture in the article. So I was happy.
Got in the car and as I pulled away I noticed that some of the numbers were "dirty" again. Reversed back in and called the guy out and showed him the screen. At least now I have provided some proof. Will take a few weeks to get the part from Japan and will have to go back to have it replaced then.
I am glad I had the forum to refer too!
