gabz
plugshare for android is out now. watch out for bugs though.
eg. set region in about plugshare to world or oceania and remember to turn on various chargers in the filters button, cos this changes when region is modified.
ios version crashes after zooming with the map on a 3GS iPhone anyway. this was one of the reasons i stuck with recargo; it didn't crash as much.

This topic has sat dormant for a while and may be worth a refresh since there seems to be a growing acceptance to unplugging an EV that is already completed it's charge. I had surveyed the Chargepoint at the Brisbane Airport Office a few months ago and it has open access on weekends. Today, my son and I were planning to be in the vicinity for some mini-golf and driving range practice. My wife had used the Leaf to go to a 5k run this morning and returned it without enough charge for my planned trip. I plugged in and waited a few hours until the range was enough to make it back...with maybe 10km to spare. The new etiquette that seems to be prevalent know is that unplugging a fully charge EV is OK if you need to plug in to avoid range anxiety. green.autoblog.com/2013/07/03/new-rules-for-ev-charging-etiquette/www.plugincars.com/eight-rules-electric-vehicle-etiquette-127513.htmlArrived and found the BNE Leaf plugged in. I unplugged it and proceed to charge. The Chargepoint accepted me as an "authorized user". We charged for about 2 hours while at the range and then plugged the BNE Leaf back in prior to departing. I didn't bother leaving a note since it was a corporate car. We drove home without a care. What are your thoughts? In your opinion, is this OK? Don't worry about hurting my feelings...I'm just interested to have a fresh review of the EV etiquette topic.

Today at Castle Hill Towers shopping centre. About 40 power points available over 6 floors of the yellow car park with an ICEr parked at each & every one. Is it etiquette to break a window, reach in, release the handbrake & roll the fossil burner out of the way? How can well intentioned folks get this stuff so wrong? Four power points in designated EV only spots would have been a much better idea. The road to hell, my old dad used to say, is paved with good intentions.

I've only been there on a weekday and assumed I would have to put the cable over the fence if I wanted to charge. If someones car is fully charged I don't see any issue with unplugging it.

As long as you're sure it's charged i.e. know the difference in lights flashing for a Volt, Leaf, Tesla etc then I think it is no problems at all to unplug. Especially also if it's one of these corporates which stay plugged in for days/weeks at a time - fully charged.

The Chargepoint display showed the BNE Leaf had been plugged in for 23 hrs and was not drawing a charge. Once, I found the Origin Leaf once plugged into a Chargepoint for over 300hrs. Makes one wonder how effective these rolling billboards are if they sit in parking stalls most of their lives. ....pains me to see the underutilized charging infrastructure, also.
Yes, the boom gates are open on the weekend. I assume the parking lot is made available for surge parking for the DFO Shopping Center next door.

I do the same thing the to lake macquire council I-meiv it stays plugged in at 100% all the time, but because it doesn't do remote air con like the leaf I don't even bother plugging it back in. just remember charge point do send the owner an sms when you unplug people or unplug without swiping off first.
when you plugged it back in assume you swiped on with your card did charge point register any power usage ?

It's almost a hard topic for us still. With only a scattering of L2 and even less L3 it would be very rare someone is plugged in when you get there. That said since we have so few leaving it plugged in and not charging is bad. Charge and move it or leave a contact number.
I guess with our LEAF having the charge timer if you unplug someone before they finish and then plug them back in they probably won't continue to charge unless the 'timer off button' in the car is pressed. So I guess if the station says it's been plugged in a long time and the charge status lights are off... Unplug away. Maybe leave a nice nite once you finish and plug them back in and let them know you were there.

gabzimiev....good point about swiping my card again to activate the chargepoint after plugging in the other car again. That way it will be energized if the car timer is set on the other car....unlikely, but just in case. I will do that next time.
