It is possible to trim down the oversized plate holder on the front. I removed the centre section then using it to join the 2 outer sections using aluminium pop-rivets. The hardest thing was grinding down the washers for the bolts that hold it to the bumper ( if you were lucky enuf to get the bolts )

Looks good. The Black plate at the front is rather large.

I also disliked the black plastic holder, so I removed it completely and bought a frame and backing plate from Carshine. I put a coloured slimline plate on the front so it sits completely above the chrome strip. I think it looks much neater. I'll try to remember to post a pic.

Japan has a more square plate so I don't know what they use. Feel free. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery Leigh

Very neat! I wonder if I could take slivers out of my "tall" plates to reduce their height?

That looks great, Leigh.
I wonder what height your issued plates are ? Did you have to trim them ?
Like ravolt, I think our WA issue plates are too tall to fit, and will need shaving.

Hi Brian, These are what VicRoads call "slimline" plates and are 372mm x 100mm. There is a slight premium in price ($30) but the frames are made to fir this size. Leigh

Thanks, Leigh. I will have to find out if they do them here in The West.
