Well, I stumbled onto a ChargePoint EV charging post in Mt Lawley, Perth, in a carpark on Beaufort Street 2 blocks north of the Queens Hotel. Has anybody joined/used ChargePoint? www.chargepoint.com.auIt is near where I am currently working. While I haven't been desperate to use a recharge it would have useful on an occasion.

There are three locations in Perth. Nearly 30 in Sydney and nearly 40 in Melbourne. The Perth ones are at the two dealerships selling the LEAF. The third is in Mount Lawley. It is a level 2 charger. Free power. I assume you pay the parking fee and receive free electrons.

I have a chargepoint card but never used a station yet. at the moment all the chargepoints in the country are free to use.
The charge point business model means that the site owner, has purchased the station at a cost of around $5k-10k so if you want to support public EV charging you should support the business that installed it.

it looks like Mount lawley is a 15amp plug not a J1772 www.recargo.com/sites/2673 ravolt recargo is the most useful site you'll find as it contains tons of pictures of the site so you know exactly what connector you need to charge www.recargo.com/search

I use the Chargepoint at Sydney City Nissan every few weeks if I'm in the area (handy because there's a pub two blocks down the street!). It's always covered in cobwebs which is a bit depressing so I give it a clean every time I'm there. It's like my own personal charger.
Penrith Nissan has a Chargepoint which isn't on their map or Recargo. I've used that before driving to Katoomba, the service department is okay with it. Next time I use it I'll ask if it's okay to put it on Recargo.

I frequent the ChargePoint fast charger at Swinburne Uni Hawthorn here in Melbourne located just 4kms from my work. I sometimes use the Morland fast charger but that is now only free for 40mins ever 24hours. Then $3.50 per 15mins after that. So if you needed it twice in a day it will cost.
I'm a beloved in using the infrastructure. I'll go a little out of my way to plug in just to support it.

odd neither recargo or chargepoint have the cost listed as anything else but $0
I did notice that with chargepoint software upgrade i can now pre-purchase credit for the card but am yet to see a chargepoint that costs
edit: found one charge point head office Sydney now charge $0.10 an hour.

I added both to Recargo, the Moreland one was free when I added it but now that it's been launched publicly the costs are displayed on the charger unit screen. Bit like I said your first 40min session per 24hrs is free anyway. ) However come the 1 year mark Moreland Council said all charging would have a fee so will have to wait till June next year for that.

Yes, I have used the Mt Lawley Chargepoint outlet - to charge my motorbike. ( I didn't pay for parking ) It is a 15 Amp socket, so will take either a Level 1 or Level 2 mobile unit. With the Chargepoint card, you get the first ' x ' units free. After disconnecting, I got an SMS that told me when I stopped charging, and where. It also told me the time on charge, and the kWhrs consumed.

Used the Beaufort Street ( Corner of Barlee ) +ChargePoint- facility today. Free energy and first hour parking free. I paid $2.50 ($2.40/hr) for parking, got 2 hours charge. Standard 15A socket, no room for the LEAF wide screw plug. Used extension cord. Found a way to weave leads under bonnet. I had wanted to run leads under car but the "air streamliner" is in the way Will investigate. There are 2 recesses either side of the charge port as it goes into the bonnet. Just enough give. Careful of bonnet rests and latch points. I wrapped cable around pole and wedged cable under front tyre to reduce chance of some-one tripping.

The iOS app screen grabs are dead giveaway! LOL g4qber - I guess if I programmed the charge time ( booked ) that would be helpful for other users? I saw the +ChargePoint- pole 14 days ago, ordered the key card, received and had the opportunity for an event 50km away last night, and wanted aircon' so I thought "here we go". I was concerned about having the Nissan supplied charger sitting out of the car. I couldn't feed the leads under the bonnet because of the barrier. I will look into something a little more friendly. We may met at one of the AEVA meets - I am very irregular though.

Tis Jim's house, I've been and charged up my LEAF there. And he's a film producer, too, so his company probably made the video But none of that explains the Victorian number plates on his LEAF in the video

Heh, here are all the answers: 1. The video was shot before my LEAF arrived so that's the demo LEAF in the vid. 2. I didn't produce the video but was happy for them to shoot it at my place while they installed my free charger. 3. Nope, we get nothing for the video! Again, was happy to do it to help promote EVs, and Nissan/Origin have been very good to us. All started from this video, that I did make: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X6Vu-gH2GA

Yep, that was us. Our EV experience started with a bang, from barely having any info on the LEAF to owning it within about 8 days!
Funny thing about the video is we only heard about the competition that day, and it was the day it was due. So we did the whole thing in about 3 hours, concept to final master. Was fun!

Had a sequence of events today which led me to the Sydney City Nissan ChargePoint with only 12% left and --- on the dash, only to find the whole unit removed from the wall in the past week!
Thanks again to LEAF Spy Pro for giving me the confidence to drive to Marrickville, ~7kms away.
It's a shame, that one was quite convenient. I hope it's just been relocated.

is there a place to charge at Marrickville?

There is for me: It was my girlfriend's place. I contacted Sydney City Nissan and asked about what's happening with their charger and they said they had to remove it because the old site is being redeveloped into apartments. They haven't made firm plans to reinstall the charger anywhere yet. I asked them to notify ChargePoint so it can be removed from the map in the meantime.
