haha it surely does....I've tested it (to ensure it works properly) in both a dirt paddock and on a wet skidpan and it works well.
I would still strongly prefer a standard mechanical handbrake as the newer models have, this system is unnecessarily complex and heavy....check out the manual for what you need to do to release it in the case of a failure!

tested volt e-brake, it works as long as you keep pulling on the switch
duncan can you confirm in your own time that pulling on the LEAF's switch fully locks the brakes. ie. don't have to keep a hold on the switch

I'll test it again later....in the case I tried I held the lever up. I think the manual said something about 3sec held up to work.
what is the volt brake like, is it electric like the leaf? seems unnecessarily complex to me....safety systems should be as simple as possible.

yes volt had electric brake. but seems to only operate when held.
from memory, the leaf beeps then applies the brake fully. The car then comes to a stop then pressing the accelerator releases the e-brake.
