Took the Leaf over to L'Pool Nissan for the 1000km inspection, it actually had 2700km on it but that's another story. Took 90min, they gave it a wash & checked the wheel nuts were tight I think, pretty much what I'd been told by other leaf owners.
My buddy took his to Mildren. Took 3hrs & they handed him a battery report. His traction pack was also missing 40km range! Kinda glad that didn't happen at L'Pool 'cause the round trip only leaves me with 20km spare as it is.
Any other first inspection experiences?

I booked my car in to Mildren for the 1,000 free check but when I got there they said I had to pay for a 6 months service 'cos I'd had the LEAF 6 months. I had no charge left so I couldn't go somewhere else. When I complained to Dean at Head Office he told me I didn't have to go back there as Kloster Nissan at Hamilton were now tooled up to service the LEAF - I have now had my 12 month service and they are much better. By the way, it is part of Nissan's requirements that your LEAF is recharged as part of the service so, Kris, you shouldn't have to drive home with no charge left.

Funny enough mine's at Steve Jarvin for its 10,000km service right now. I'm going to watch the charge like a hawk through Carwings in case they decide to go for joyrides in it.

I have had 1k service done at Blackburn Nissan here in Vic where I brought the car from. Then for 10k it went to Essendon Nissan as they were closer by 50km on the round trip. My latest 20k service was done at my local dealer Werribee Nissan who is newly certified to sell and service the LEAF.
Not once have I driven away with more charge on the car than when it arrived for a service. I feel like them plugging it in and charging it while it's sitting doing nothing is not something they think to do. Maybe Nissan Au should send out a memo that it should be plugged in as soon as it's taken into the service area.
We all know that an hour or two charge can mean a big difference for some people.

We got a full charge before it was ready for pick up in the afternoon.
I'd take my LEAF to the most popular service centre so they're the most experienced with looking after them. Steve Jarvin seems to be the most popular in Sydney, they even loaned us a courtesy car for the day so I'll happily recommend them.

When I did my 1,000km service at SJN they didn't plug it in. Not fare Feng, what was the dammage for the 10,000km? And was there any sign of driving/hooning? Mark

I just realised, you wont be able to see yet. Carwings takes a couple of days to update.

The average service is around $89, and for the big ones, like 20,000 km, it's around $250. Fraction of what servicing an ICE costs. Could be a lot less as many people feel EVs don't need regular servicing at all. They basically just check the tyres, fluids and give you a battery check.

It was only $119.25 for the 10k service. And by Carwings I mean the LEAF owners portal where you can look up the charge, turn on climate control, etc. Not the actual full Carwings site sorry.

Here are the recommended costs for the different services.

We were trying to work out if the missing 40km was because somebody drove it somewhere during the service or because they did some sort of discharge test on the traction pack to check the status? (You know like a suped up version of a tong tester for regular car batteries) If the latter the dummy load would be an interesting item 'cause 40km is equivalent to roughly 6kwh.

Just took our leaf in for its 10000km service (missed the 1000km one) here in Adelaide. Was very happy with the price $84.60, the battery report was all 5 stars / 12 bars and the tyres good. They gave the car a wash and gave it back 100% charged - we gave to them at 8 bars. I've only seen one other leaf round about but they said they have been selling well.

Since a good wash seems to cost $50 these days, that's a pretty good deal! ;-)

I know some of the LEAF owners are not surprised... Here are some of the "unusual" the items listed in my 1000KM services: * Checked drive belts * Checked exhaust and gas sensors * all oil levels No battery report. Maybe they put in a "range extender" on my LEAF for free I can't complaint on a free service.

I'd complain to Dean in Nissan Head Office - that is just not good enough, free or otherwise!!!

Yeah, that happens from time to time. At my 10,000km they tried to give me a standard 10K ICE report. Of course I mentioned the LEAF had none of those items and they quickly remedied their mistake.
My guess is they see so few of our cars this happens more often than other countries.

I can't recall getting any sort of report for my 1000km service from Blackburn Nissan... Maybe they don't have a template.
