insideevs.com/nissan-tests-48-kwh-leaf-at-ecoseries/. I hope that's a sign of things to come. There's no mention of what modifications to the rest of the car was made to double its battery capacity. They could have just jammed extra cells into the boot and back seat just for publicity. Years from now if we get to upgrade our packs to something like that, I hope we can also upgrade our chargers. Taking more than half a day to charge the battery doesn't sound fun, but I won't be choosy!

Awesome! I am starting to question whether a battery replacement is financially viable for us.
When the LEAF cost $60k and they said a new battery might be $15k-$20k, that sounded reasonable. But if it ends up costing that but a new LEAF is $32k, I would just buy a new one and pass the original to the kids!
