I received an email from Nissan offering to complete a survey now that I have 5 years of ownership under my belt. I often don’t bother with company surveys, but on this occasion I thought it important to give them feedback.
Overall, I have no regrets buying my Leaf, but I almost certainly would not buy another one. I congratulated Nissan for taking the risk in building one of the first high volume modern EVs, but that they had seriously dropped the ball since then. Too long to release the 2nd gen model, unacceptable battery degradation rates, BEV competitors that have caught up then overtaken them, no OTA updates, Nissan’s BEV commitment doesn’t seem “all in”, and their support (particularly Carwings and the complete indifference they seem to have in maintaining it) collectively meant my next BEV was a Tesla.
Also the dealer instinct to gouge on service was on display at my most recent service - $168 to change an AC filter, the majority of that cost being labour. That is ridiculous. It probably didn’t even need changing. No doubt the dealer model will be under massive threat from BEVs because they can see their service income business model evaporating before their very eyes.
Also, for the first time, I volunteered my phone number at the end of the survey if Nissan want to call me about the results. It will be interesting to see if they do.
When I get my Tesla next month I’ll keep my Leaf and rejoice at never having to buy petrol ever again.

Don't remember getting that survey. I have had my LEAF 7 years.

I never got that after 6 years, would have welcomed the opportunity to comment

It seems like it is a relatively recent initiative then. I’ll let you know if they call me to discuss my feedback.

Just had the 5 year ownership survey as well. I also let them know that I was dissatisfied with the rate of battery degradation and reduced regen and lack of cost-effective battery replacement program. Would definitely not buy an EV from them again until they've sorted out those issues. I also gave them my number if they need to discuss anything.

They’ve not been brave enough yet to give me a call back
