Someone has just asked me about this. Is it possible to replace the J1772 socket on a first-gen Leaf to Type 2? Main reason is for consistency with other vehicles in a 2 EV household (where the other car is Type 2 - as most will be) and they share a charger.
I'm sure it is possible since adaptors/cables exist to cross connect between Type 1 and Type 2 chargers/cars - but has anyone done it?

The easiest way to do this is using cable adapter (instead of changing the car's socket). I myself been using this one for years now with no issue: Simply google "Type-2 to Type-1 adapter"
