HI. Im still using the Uk charger for my Leaf. Brought it here 18 months ago. An Australian replacement charger costs $2600 and they dont know if it will work on my Uk Car. Does anyone know if it will?

If your leaf is the j1772 connector then it should work without a problem, just plug it in. If it's the type 2 connector then change the australian plug end over (j1772) to the mennekes type 2 and all good. Ive just changed my bmw i3 over to type 2 from j1772 so it's all still fresh in my head.

I believe standard the UK power points are 13 amps where the Australian ones are only 10 amps. What current is your EVSE rated at?

Seems to be 10amp
The main reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of selling. I have a UK to Australia adapter but I think a Uk plug will put people off buying it. The fault light on the charger is permanently on as well. It still charges but slower. That means it doesn't reach the 80% charge that I set it too before it stops charging.

The Holden Volt EVSE is actually supplied as part of Australian Compliance for a JDM imported Nissan Leaf to replace the original 200 Volt Japanese one. I've just picked up my JDM Leaf without the Volt EVSE which is on backorder, though apparently still available. The Volt EVSE is relatively inexpensive at ~$250-350. I purchased a versatile EV-lution 6/10/15 Amp charger to get by until the Volt EVSE arrives. Then the EV-lution one will stay at home and the Volt 10 Amp one will live in the boot. (We live off-grid and wish to charge at the lowest practical rate.)

A few weeks ago we had some really cloudy weather, and it was bothering me that I was using energy from my house solar energy system to charge the car. The Aussie dollar seemed to be doing okay as well, so the price had come down a few dollars from what it was months ago. So I decided to get it. It arrived today, and I've added a Clipsal 56 series 15 A lockable plug (just like the Nissan brick comes with). When I say lockable, I just mean it has the threaded cover that you can use to hold the plug in place, if the socket is of the right kind. I also got myself such an outlet; not Clipsal brand this time (a bit pricey). I found that Sparky Direct (whose warehouse is near Caboolture, not too far from the new Evie fast charger) have good prices for electrical goodies (only of interest to qualified personnel, of course). I found out after I placed the order that I could have saved myself $11 of shipping, and had an excuse to drive the Leaf, by picking up the order by hand. Maybe next time, when the Evie charger is up and running. [ Edit: note that the price on the web site doesn't include the "instant discount" of ~2.2%, but also doesn't include the 10% GST. ] This EVSE has adjustable AC current from 6 A to 16 A in one amp steps, using a single button. I've set it to 7 A for now, just because I can. It remembers the setting from last time you used it. It's a lot smaller than the Nissan brick, and in fact even with a loop of the thick 2.5 mm² cable either side of it, it still sits a bit loose in my $10 hose reel holder. Oh well, maybe time to get a slightly smaller hose holder. The original Nissan EVSE is packed away neatly (it really does fit in the nifty case, you just need some patience), for emergency public charging.

The Aussie dollar seemed to be doing okay as well, so the price had come down a few dollars from what it was months ago. I have also ordered one of these. I am also off grid. I asked and was advised that this unit would work ok on 110VAC (the on line info said 166VAC??). I will get a 12V to 110VAC 1500W PSW inverter which will reduce the wattage draw by another 50%. I should be able to run (at 6A) for several hours per (clear, sunny) day for 10km top up which is enough for my daily use. I have a superfluous 24V to 110VAC 3000W PSW inverter left over from a previous dwelling which I am selling on Gumtree for $300.

I am also off grid. I asked and was advised that this unit would work ok on 110VAC (the on line info said 166VAC??). Hmmm. It depends on the internal power supply. On the back of the unit it just says Input voltage: 240 V. It would be good to know what the power draw of all the fans, pumps, and computers is. I hope that you don't get 90% of your 660W gobbled up by these overheads. Hopefully at very low charge rates, the cooling system will draw less power, perhaps turning off the coolant pump and fan for long periods. But it might just leave them on always when charging. Do let us know how it goes. Mine took 11 days to arrive (on a Monday, might have been less if the order day was later). Of course, delivery to Sapphire might take a little longer.

I am now selling an Australian charger cord for the Nissan Leaf. This cable replaces the cable that came with your Leaf from Japan which will NOT work here in Australia. It has an Australian 10A plug on one end (plugs into any Australian home 3pin powerpoint, and a J1772 Plug to plug into your Prius. The price is A$350 including shipping. To order one, please email me on leafplugin@gmail.com or ring me on 0403 153 999

Buddy, this is starting to very spammy. You're using different usernames to advertise the same product (same email address and phone number) on lots of different threads.
You haven't posted a single picture of what you're selling. The forum now accepts attachments again, so you could do that.

Yeah given practically all of your posts on this forum are about selling cables and little other contribution, I'll have to start deleting posts and/or banning. Consider this your final warning.
