They had them available for a while, but you had to look. I prefer the refinement of the leaf, but the Zoe is a nice car. Also with the tesla destination chargers, there is a lot of charge points and real range, Article is wrong, gees journalists are lazy now, it has a 41kw, not 22kw battery. It's the ZE40

They appeared to only be available as fleet vehicles before, so hope that they will now promote them properly. I do believe that there is quite a bit of pent-up demand out there. As a Zoe owner (in France), how do you think the Australian pricing compares to the Leaf?

I had the Melbourne dealer eight weeks back, offer me an intense Zoe for the rack price, delivered to Qld. She stated that they are able to sell to non fleet, private buyers. In France you have to rent the battery, I have never liked the scheme, some Eu countries don't allow battery rental, like Norway and you buy the battery with the unit. It is about $38,500us, or $51,850 oz. Near in mind too that Eu governments offer large incentives, like €10,000 subsidy, free rego etc. So all in all it's close. I have the Intense in France, rear camera, rain wipers, all the extras that that that the leaf has. I would suggest it's worth the extra. I am much more comfortable with the range predictor, if it says it's has 110km to empty, you know even with AC on it will more than make it. Much better than the leaf. I talked to a local with an R40, and she is getting a comfortable 360-380 out of a "tank"

Do you mean an Australian "local", or one in France? That is a great range. How do you think a 40 kW battery manages to do so much, given that the Leaf with 24kW might only manage 120km?
I checked Car Sales yesterday, and no Zoes are listed as yet.

I wonder if a bit of competition from the Ioniq and the new Leaf might bring the Zoe price down into the sensible range. The Kona EV might also give it a nudge if that model arrives in Australia.

First one of these cars have to make it to Australia, and all the models mentioned are taking their sweet time.

Just back from a house sitting holiday in Brittany where I hired a Zoe for 3 days just to try it out. I reckon it was the base model and had the older, smaller battery as when I picked it up (in Saint-Brieuc) they told me I'd get about 120-130km range. Driving in Eco mode and not over 90 kmph best range indication I got was at 99% charge (that last few % takes forever when charging) and it was 187 km.
Definitely worth getting the extra perks of the better model - rear camera, as the back is very hard to estimate and they're touchy doing small parking manoeuvres. Some of the interior finishes are a bit on the hard side (the door elbow rest). Possibly that's softer in the better model. They certainly are set up well for them in France - loads of chargers. I didn't pay for a charge once and added perk is prime & free parking at big tourist spots. A$200 for 3 days including 600 km's. Less than an ICE & fuel would have been. If you go to France get a Chargemap.com card (20 Euro) which covers loads of different schemes chargers (just let them know you're an English speaker for the Get Started pack).
BTW - unbelievable how cheap real estate is there. Seriously considering buying so I can have permanent summer. Wind generators all over the place.

I reckon Renault oughta offer pretty keen pricing initially in order to have them seen as market leader. They have some months jump on the competition. Time to build momentum before other cheaper options appear.

From the brochure - battery warranty is 5 years/100,000 km's. They only cover if it gets under 66%!

My model is the ZOE intense, rear camera, parking sensors, better finish. Would suggest that model. PS bought second hand for €7000 @ Lorient The chargers are everywhere, I carry about 8 different cards now, ChargeMap card doesn't cover all, each department has its own supplier and card, some are compatible, needs to be more consistent. As I noted in another post, the paid autoroutes all have rapid chargers with the service stations. Attachment Deleted

Yes, I strayed down to the northern suburbs of Rennes and couldn't use the charger as I only had the Chargecard and Brevcar the rental place gave me. Luckily I had enough to get back to Dinan. Blimey 7000 is good. Amazing how many chargers there are. Every little village seems to have them. The different sockets and suppliers is one of the drawbacks. Still loads easier than in Australia - Tassie has sod all.
g4qber - that's about $6k off new. Ok, but not a bargain is it? Still, if you wanted one you might bite around there. I was kinda hoping we'd see them at low $40's for Life, mid $40's for Intens. Probably only once a few people start selling them after a year or two if they don't like them.
