It has been partial for a while (tap refresh then need to wait a few minutes, fully close app and re-open it to see the new figures), but now refresh just actually refreshes. How novel.

I retried the iPhone app a few days ago and first the first time in ages it actually worked - not only that, the responsiveness was vastly improved. Instead of taking 2+ minutes to refresh the battery state, it took less than 30 seconds. Just tried it again and all is good.

I have just purchased a second hand Leaf (from kris who is/was on this forum). Very happy with it so far - as some of you might remember, Kris had the battery replaced under warranty only last month so its like a new one now! Anyway, I've been in the process of getting carwings working - it's pretty much there, except for one bit) - I can not see charge information from the car, nor start charge/climate control etc. The car is uploading driving records to carwings and I can see all that data via my account. It just doesn't seem to be able to "receive" inbound calls to get data, if that makes sense. I've got a new user ID etc and I'm confident that is fine (again, can see my driving records on the portal). Others seemed to have a very similar issue the solutions for them don't appear to have worked for me. - can someone verify that they have been able to see battery charge level, set charge, climate times etc very recently (sounds as though the system goes up and down a little). - Kris was saying that from when the 3G upgrade was done two years ago he could not get it to fully work either but didn't follow it up. He thinks there might have been a step that Nissan needed to do. I have contacted the Nissan number and whilst they set up the new user and everything for me they couldn't help me any further and suggested that a dealer would be my best bet. I am in Canberra, and there is only one Leaf dealer - not sure how knowledgeable they are - looking at this and other threads, it appears that one suggestion regarded restarting the TCU via a battery disconnect for 15 mins, also mentioning low battery can be a problem. I have tried that a few times (even reconnected using a different battery as a test, after waiting 15 minutes). My battery can read as low as 12.2 volts which is low but hard to believe it would be low enough to be a problem. Thanks to all the contributors on this forum- I think I've read most of the last few years worth over the last week and it's been great. Any help or suggestions on what to try next would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Joshm74, you're not alone, mine hasn't worked for over a month. Likewise I can look up my driving stats on Carwings but can't check charge status nor remote start charging. I can't bring myself to call Nissan about it, I'm hoping the problem will just go away by itself.
Just curious, did Kris say what his plans are after selling his Leaf?

Bugger - was hoping that there'd be a magic fix. I have been talking to Nissan but clearly its luck of the draw whether the person you get has much knowledge about it. Hopefully the new leaf will use the same infrastructure and at least for a little while they'll be forced to work it out.
Anyway - if anyone DOES have it fully working right now please let us know. My guess is that most of you have been through it so many times you've given up, and the novelty of the feature is not worth the effort to deal with Nissan.
Kris said he was thinking along the lines of a Tesla but he wasn't holding his breath...might be a long wait.

Josh- "...so many times you've given up, and the novelty of the feature is not worth the effort to deal with Nissan."
Correct. My battery & A/c function has not worked for months, but the driving stats are still ok. The vehicle comms connection obviously works, but the Nissan back end continually breaks. This has broken so many times in the past I am sick of calling Nissan to get it fixed each time. It has never worked for more than 6 weeks continuously for me. I might give it a go one more time as it seems to be generally broken again. DAC

I also haven't bothered with Carwings for some time, but now that the car is being sold, is there anything that I need to do to help the buyer get connected? Does my account need to be discontinued? The one feature that I always wanted to use was turning on the a/c remotely.

Well based on responses from this forum and other research I have done - it looks like Carwings is dead in the water in terms of remote access to the vehicle (again - if someone can please post something in this thread as if/when it magically starts working for them). I have a feeling that even if it does all work again, there is still something not quite right on my car (Kris, the former owner said it hasn't worked since the 3G upgrade and I know it has worked on and off for many of you since doing that). I'm really keen to troubleshoot my car, but no point unless I know it is at least operational for some.
Having said all that, the Carwings driving records being uploaded is still nice to have. Based on my experience the new owner needs to contact Nissan Australia Customer service (the number on the Leaf web portal) and say they are the new owner and provide VIN number rego etc. They should then get a new portal account (their email address), but the Carwings user (the N******* number) and obscure password that is put in the car remained the same. You can choose to clear all data in the car before you hand it over in the Carwings settings, but chances are the new owner will have to type the same Carwings logon in as well.
Still very hopeful that with the new leaf (presumably using the same system) - there will be a new lease of life in the Nissan Connect EV app. Out of curiosity I went and spoke to the sole Leaf dealer in Canberra last week saying I couldn't get the remote stuff to work, and the lady at the service desk basically said they've tried and its basically not supported any more, which sounds to me like rubbish, but what can you do... After watching the kids play sport at near zero degrees in the evenings it would be nice to turn on the heater 10 mins before getting back in the car.

I think carwings is working in record only. When my car finishes a charge session, it uploads the data to carwings. I cant use any push functions, like air con / start charge / get current status.

Same here. Stats are recorded and the App shows the most recent reported battery state, but the rest is dead.

At the test drive event last Friday I asked Clive (The sales guy) about Carwings (renamed Nissan Connect) on the new Leaf. He didn't know what I was talking about. Carwings was available on the Gen-1 Leafs. It is very useful for remote control (from an app on your phone) to start and stop charging, aircon, look at state of charge etc.
Upon further research I learned that there appears to be no mention anywhere of it in connection to the new Leaf on the nissan.com.au website, particularly not in the connectivity section of the specs. Connectivity does list things like Bluetooth and Apple Play/Android Auto, so I'd expect it to be there if available.
However it does appear to be available in Europe and North America. If it's true. This is a real pity for Australia. Anyone who has more info on this, particularly if you have access to a Gen-2 Australian Leaf, please post here.

Having been in Eu for a few months again. I can say that carwings is still working fine there on my French leaf. In fact for four years there it has never missed a beat. Further I popped over to the uk and then Ireland with it on the ferry and it still had full internet coverage, remote climate etc. I was amazed. More amazed that the ferry had Ev chargepoints. It seems only in oz has the ball been dropped for its support.

Mine is completely dead again too. It's really poor thinking by Nissan Oz. Most people around me considering EVs are talking with me for advice, as I'm the person who visibily has an EV.
And yet I'd never recommend they buy a new Leaf after the way Nissan has handled it here. Compare the owner's experience of a Tesla 3 for just a few more $, even before you factor in Supercharging.
I don't understand why they didn't just hire one person to make Carwings work properly rather than delete the feature (if that is what they have done) on the new generation in Australia.

My guess, Nissan Australia doesn't see the value for money. Most consumers still don't realise this feature yet. I myself didn't even consider this as a feature before I had it. Once I have it, it's in my 'must have' feature now. Especially in Oz summer, remote aircon before you get into the car is an absolute necessity!

Id wonder if the new Leaf even has traffic updates for the navigator. When I bought my Gen-1 in 2013, the Nissan web site made a big deal out of the remote charging/climate control.I knew all about it, and was really looking forward to using it. But it has never worked properly. Now they just couldn't be bothered. I'm just glad I don't own shares in Nissan. They could have done so much better with this car, but I can't see it happening.

Hi ladies and gents, anyone know how to logon to Nissan Connect these days? I know we should given up on the 'Carwings', but I still usually have access to the car's data via Nissan Connect (i.e. owners.nissanconnect.com.au), but not recently. Is this totally off the table now? UPDATE: SOrry, answering my own question here. I got the website wrong, it meant to be owners.nissan.com.au/portal

Has any owner of Leaf imports having issue with their charging timer?
During my latest attempt to resurrect the remote air-con control via app (by temporarily remove the 12V battery to reset the on-board computer), my Leaf couldn't connect to the base station (indicated by no clock shown on the infotainment system). The 'Information Channel' tab also missing.
I've noticed, when this happened, my charging timer couldn't be set. So, looks like the charging timer is relying the base station timing (not the manual clock set from the dash board).
If this is the case, how does those leaf import change the charging timer?

Hi Rusdy, I have a faint memory that something similar happened to mine when I did the same thing. The time came back by itself after some time, can't remember how long, maybe a day or 2, and then the charging timer was OK again.

A reminder that Carwings only stores the previous 6 months of trip data, so if you’re a stat-head like me and want to keep your trip data, don’t forget to log in every 6 months to download it. I nearly forgot about this and only narrowly avoided having a gap in my data.

Strange happening today. I was about to send a complaint to Nissan Australia regarding the remote app.
So, just for the fun of it, I tested it (knowingly it wouldn't work), but... it worked!
Let's see how long it lasts... 😂
It's like Nissan Australia hack into my mind!

Sadly not for me... I take it that it is 100% working for you - battery status, climate control and stats ? On mine its just the stats working, but battery and climate control are still broken and just time out. One thing I noticed is that the "updated time" on the home screen is GMT ,not local. Is that what others see too ? DAC
