Hi, this is my first post so sorry if I'm asking a question already asked....
Firstly, can anyone give me an easy distinction between Carwings and OwnersPortal? Secondly, when i log into OwnersPortal at the moment, my battery/charge_status/range etc doesn't show up - has message like 'invalid' or zero values. When i use retieve battery status button and refresh it eventually shows the latest time but none of the other info mentioned. About a year ago i went through the whole painful process of getting 3g TCU which Nissan struggled to get working then but did eventually, so possibly this is just a throughback to then!? Cars' booked in to have TCU looked at but I've heard various comments that Telstra network is at fault to its even sensitive to order in which original update was performed!!? Can anyone please shed some informed light on the matter as i don't think even Nissan CustomerService are telling me anything useful. Thanks

Your issue with Carwings is very likely due to "low" battery voltage in your 12V battery. The 3G TCU logged an error and went to sleep. It happens after the 3G TCU hardware upgrade. You can try to disconnect the 12V battery for 15 minutes and reconnect it. It should fix the problem. You should also check the voltage of your 12V battery. If the voltage is too low, you may consider replacing the battery. Here is the post about the saga of this 3G TCU module: ozleaf.proboards.com/thread/9?page=14

Thanks Jacky - i'll check battery voltage to confirm issue, but just to clarify I don't have a problem with actual Carwings - I can still see Driving Records and Daily Driving Report etc within Carwings for my vehicle BUT its the info shown in the Nissan LEAF Owners portal that I access to get to Carwings that's missing. This is the more useful stuff to me such as battery/charge_status/range and I presume the remote charge and climate controls. So do you still think its a 12V battery issue that affects Owners Portal? Cheers.

You need to disconnect the battery even if your battery voltage now is fine.

I have been unable to retrieve battery status and use Climate control for over a month, but the trip records have been fine. I had reported this a few weeks ago to NISSAN and it came good yesterday, so it maybe its worth checking again.

Just to update - I disconnected 12v battery and on re-connecting I still had the issue. So yesterday I disconnected it again and recharged it for a couple of hours. Now the OwnersPortal (battery status/Climate control etc) is working again. I mention that I charged up battery as I think others with similar issue might have gone and bought a new 12v battery. My CTEK charger costs $150 and reconditions battery as well as charging so might be able to avoid purchasing a new battery to solve this annoying little problem!? p.s. I had informed Nissan too and even had car booked in for service to solve 'annoying little problem' but neither party seemed very interested in or knowledgeable of the issue!! Glad my first use of this forum was able to help, thanks.

Mine has also been non-functional for the most part recently (12v battery replaced in other thread only a few months ago).
I was considering the disconnecting 12v battery trick, but just before I did I tested the app and it lo and behold it's working again.
Welcome to Nissan EV ownership (in Australia at least).

Well, I'm finding it all very annoying. It comes and goes as the weeks go by, I find usually working for just short of two weeks and then not working for three or more weeks. It's been on and off like this since early April.
I'm finding it hard to buy the faulty 12 v battery theory. Last time Carwings went down, I could not log in to get the current state of charge, or, as is a most useful feature in winter, pre-heating the car whilst connected to the charger, but I was still receiving charge stop notifications. This went on for a couple of days but eventually ceased. The system started to work again a few days ago.
All the while, the car can still "phone home" to report its daily trips and trees and to update its charger database. I can't help but feel its Nissan's Australian "phoning the car" hardware or software that is the problem, as I would think if it can receive "calls" from the car, it should be able to "call" the car. It's as if somebody at Nissan eventually notices the system has gone down and eventually gets around to resetting it, only for it to go down again after a couple of weeks and the cycle repeats.

From my own experience, simply disconnect, wait, and reconnect the 12V battery did it (fixed the remote app).
The battery is indeed at its last leg (resting voltage 12.2 ish). So, my guess the hard restart did it (instead of low batt).
I'm pushing my luck on how long I can stick with the original batt.

ThirdRonnie - "I can't help but feel its Nissan's Australian "phoning the car" hardware or software that is the problem, as I would think if it can receive "calls" from the car, it should be able to "call" the car."
You are quite correct. The service has just gone down again for me a couple of days ago, and it has nothing to do with the car battery. It is the Nissan IT system that seems to get locked up every month or 2 , and I call them up to get it fixed. Sometimes the person at the other end knows exactly what to do and reports it to their IT department and it gets fixed after a week or so. Other times I get the run around by someone who has no idea what I am talking about or that Nissan EV / Carwings even exists and they insist I take the car to a dealer !
The battery fix is only required if all mobile communication has failed, which is not the case here.
So I suppose I'll have to call them up yet again and try to find the right person to get it fixed. If anyone else is having the same problem, it would help if a more calls were made as they do log and count them. The more that complain the better. The number is - 1800 532 338 and follow the prompts. (opt 2 and then 3 ).

Yes, chuq, I became aware that it was back late on Wednesday. You're right, I will make a point of calling every time it goes down. I can't understand why it takes a week for them to fix it, though.

I haven't tried it for a couple of days but it's down this morning. I just called them and the options have changed. You now need to choose Option 2, then 4. Update: 8/8/2018 - A week and a half and still down. It must be the most unreliable IT system on the planet!

Hi all, I had to fully reset my phone (android) the other day, and the Nissan EV app didn't restore from the backup. I checked the play store and I can't see it at all. It appears to have been removed. Does anyone one know how to get this app now ?

Thanks heaps Feng ! Downloaded and working OK (well half, as the battery & A/c part is broken again, but the trip info is OK.) Time to ring them up yet again... It may be worth keeping this file handy for others as this is likely to be an ongoing problem until the (hopefully) new one comes.
Thanks again, DAC

Will do! Good luck getting the rest of it working. Mines working, maybe disconnecting your car battery for a few minutes might coax it to work?

Another "oz leaf" user saved by your apk file here Feng! My boy reset my phone (yea, the joy of having curious kid) and I've found the hard way that the nissanconnect app from the app store doesn't work. Luckily for us, we have your old apk installation file! It took me a while to find it even with the all knowing Google due to my lack of knowledge in the keyword. I searched for nissanconnect api, instead of nissanconnect apk. Deliberately mentioned here so I can search it again in the future if I need it. Happy New year everyone!

I'm glad! I almost removed it when I did a clean up, I think I'll leave it for a few months until the new version appears.
One problem I've noticed recently is if you check for updates it won't refresh and you have to restart the app to see the updated charge status.

Yep, I can log in now too, but battery charge status and A/C control are not working. The trip stats in the carwings part seem OK though.

Ditto Remote charge timer neither.
Lagging by half a day for battery SOC status.
Very slow interactivity, more so then usual
