Hey everyone, this is Daniel and its my first post here I am not a Leaf owner, I'm here for a year 12 physics project that compares petrol and electric motor power to weight ratios. I was going to use the nissan leaf, tesla model 3 and tesla p100d as the evs to be compared to similarly priced petrol cars. However, i have been unable to find some of the information by trawling through the internet, so I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find the weight of the Em61 (used on older models, not sure if sitll current) electric motors used and the weight of the battery pack that is mounted on the leaf. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much.

Thank you so much, that makes things so much simpler, now i just need to find out the weight of the battery pack Looking into EVs is actually really interesting, I've always been a petrolhead but looking at how far the technology has progressed, in 10-15 years it seems like EV tech will have massively outpaced combustion performance. Can't wait to see whats in store

Wait until you have driven one... ... I have some mates with their brains in the 1950s. I dare them to take the LEAF for a spin. Those that have are very quickly converted.

The battery and control module together weigh 218 kg (480 lb) the specific energy of the cells is 140 W. h/kg.

Good find indeed Feng! I'm impressed with the immersion test. If they waterproof the rest of wiring, it can compete with the snorkelled diesel!!
Not really impressed with the thermal degradation, but hey, that's different topic!
