Hi Folks I am looking to purchase a used Nissan Leaf in Queensland, NSW or Vic. They only seem to be available in WA. Were the new ones ever sold in the eastern states?

Hello, Congrats on your decision to purchase a Leaf. New Leafs were sold on the eastern sea boarder states however many company demos were sent to WA to sell as WA was the first to introduce the car charging super highway so it has a higher chance of selling compared to other states which lack a fast charging network.
As an example, my Leaf was a Nissan demonstration vehicle based in Melbourne, it was transported across to WA and ended up at a Nissan dealership in Perth before I purchased it and paid for it to be brought back to Melbourne (where I am based).

They certainly were and some have been resold. I'm sure they have been advertised on Car Sales website.

They are certainly hard to get (and rare) in Australia and unfortunately they sell for a lot more than other countries. I saw them buzzing around Cork in Ireland last September looked them up on the internet and was surprised to see that they used to sell them in Australia. I bought one when I got home in October. Its a pity we can't import second hand ones from Japan like they do in New Zealand seeing that nobody wants to sell or buy new ones here. We must be protecting our local car manufacturing? ??

As an owner, I think they sell for very little, hitting $20K or less for cars that have only been on the road for 2-3 years. And the rarity hasn't helped resale value either.
